Noel Howard hurt my nipples.

Post by agent5 »

Seriously.

Mods, before you get your fingers too close to the delete button ( you can take them off now ) this is a serious post and I'm asking serious questions here.

Whilst at C3 with Indyblues, I was in full costume on Saturday. It was VERY cold, snowing in fact and we had a 1 block walk from our hotel. Well, as any human does, I have nipples and I think most people have the same effect on them when it gets really, really cold. After all, we're all human and each person reading this thread has nipples. I hope. Only one context should be crossing your minds at this moment. I hope.

So, after getting inside the con I noticed after a while, a pain in both nipples. It kept getting worse as the day went on, especially when we went outside. Back at the hotel on break I checked it out. My nipples were perfectly alligned with the stitch for the pleats on the inside of the shirt. The cold made my nipples hard and the stitches were rubbing my nipples raw. It seriously hurt pretty bad. I'm not into pain so this wasn't my cup of tea.

Now, has this ever happened to anyone here before?

I'm being entirely and utterly serious here too. It seemed strange to me that I don't recall it happening before and I've worn the shirt in cold weather several times. Maybe just not at 30 dgs.

Sorry...I couldn't help but laugh. I've never had that exact problem before, but I think that all of us have had something rub us the wrong way before. (no pun intended)

Geez...the more I hang around this place the more I think I might be turning into a scoundrel. #-o

Well, given that everyone's nipples are in slightly different locations - even if they wear the same size shirt - I doubt you're going to find many people who have experienced exactly the same thing.

Incidentally, if it was so cold, why weren't you wearing an undershirt anyway?

Didn't think of that. D'OH!!!

No, sir. Does Indy wear a t-shirt? No, I was in full gear so I wanted it to be as accurate as possible.

If you're hanging around this place you're already a scoundrel.
Trust me.

Maybe Harrison Ford was wearing Kramerica Industries' ultra-supportive mansiere, also known as the Bro? I'm sorry you're hurting!

I've definitely experienced chafed nipples whilst wearing my Wested Indy shirt in the cold. It ranges from unpleasant to downright painful an some points. Next time it's really cold and I'm wearing just an Indy shirt as a top I'm going to duct tape my nipples! That'll cut down on friction and keep them from chafin up too bad... though removing the tape will be no party.

I've had the letters sewn on the front of a basketball jersey do the same thing. I never had a hockey jersey do that, the shoulder pads kept the jersey from even coming into contact with that area.

I can't shake the feeling that this thread might have been worded a wee bit better! Somehow, the image of a distinguished English gentleman going around yanking some of his best customers by the mammary glands is unsettling, at best.

I suppose the mods can rest easy, since this topic is not as titillating as it seems.

Indeed, this is why many marathon runners are seen with taped headlights while their shirts are off. ;)
Maybe it's time to pull out that tank top from your wardrobe for 'protection'? 8)

I've had problems with safari shirts and the placement of the pockets rubbing my nipples raw. The Cabela's shirt has the same problem for me.

I'm actually surprised to see this question coming from you, agent5, of all people. Yes, he did. Don't believe me? Check out the scene where he opens the door of his apartment for Marcus, and pulls his bathrobe tighter around himself. You can see he's wearing an undershirt. So, he didn't wear them when in the field, but yes, he DID wear them, and you can easily get away with wearing an understhirt with that explaination.

By that reckoning, yes. However, I was in the field, so no t-shirt. Had I been walking around in that smoking jacket, just chillin', I'd have definitely had on that t-shirt and it would have been as darn close as possible.
I was blessed on Friday because it was supposed to be very cold but the tepm warmed up a bit, enough for me to be completely comforatble in my Tanis costume. No shirt underneath that either. You can see right through it.

So does that mean you know if Indy was a boxer or brief man? Did they have briefs back then?

I've never had any regular shirt rub me the wrong way but when I ran in some tank tops I've gotten chafed. I've seen runnners with band-aids over their nipples to prevent the same thing (of course I'm assuming that what it was for.) :-k

It happens to all of us, just a lot faster for the worst of us. 8)

I guess it depends on the situation regarding t-shirts. He's wearing one under his robe when brody visits. Wasn't it a Metallica t-shirt?

I personally have never experienced sore mammillae. Mine seem to be purely ornamental. However I have male a friend who jogs so much that he has to vaseline his chest to keep from chafing. However, he does not jog in a Noel Howard shirt...
