Post by IndyFlyer »

Hello all, normal disclaimers from a 'newbie' to COW, thanks for your patience and help. Haven't figured out the avatar stuff yet, so my profile will be 'evolving'..

Been following and digging in the forum for a few months to bring myself up to speed prior to jumping in and I must commend and compliment you all for your work on this site and knowledge. Impressive and well done.

I've wore hats all my life, but primarily of the western sort due to wide availability. Just couldn't find a decent fedora of the Indy style, nor knew where or how to search. (BTW, I'm into all things Indy, not just hats). I had a stint with a 'Temple' that I thought was it, a short stint. Donned a few wool versions, again, not much staying power. Kept the desire, but gave up the search, until COW and all of your background work and shared experience. Enough wind on intro.

Being a 'go big or go home' kindaguy who doesn't do so well as a beginner, I have been talking with Fedora the last couple of weeks as my travels allowed and today have a beaver Raiders-Raven Bar going on the block. That has always been about my favorite scene and Raiders hat. I cannot believe that I am finally actually having one custom made by such a true artisan and gentleman. Can't give enough praise to Fedora and his entire hat making process beginning with even the initial contact and the time that he takes to listen and explain. As those of you that have gone before, I am counting the days....! IF

When you said "on the block" I thought you were going to auction it off, but then I realized: hat block. Oh, yeah.

Anyway, Adventurebilts are great hats and you picked a great bash. Congratulations of a fine purchase.

Let me know if you need any help posting an avatar.

I know you'll love the hat. I just put mine on after a few weeks of not wearing it, and it looks better than ever. These hats age wonderfully--I can't wait to see one in a year or so.

Been out of town for a few days, just returned, thanks for the words and to all who welcomed me. I'll keep y'all informed on my 'Raven' and when it arrives, should be dry and 'bout ready for bashing by now....
