What's up with Wested

Post by guitone »

I send some emails from their site last week and no answers..when I sent an email directly to them they said my emails had bounced so I asked if now that they are getting emails through to me if they would send the bounced ones to me so I could read the replies. Is this usual or is it just something that may have been a problem due to email problems between them and me?

Thanks....I was dissappointed but am open to the fact that maybe I will get a reply to the questions I had asked.

I would just call them. Back when I ordered my Wested Peter told me that they were having email problems. So maybe thats what the trouble is now? :?

Not everyone is technology-savvy. I would call them as well.

Just be aware of time changes between where you are and that Wested's in the UK, so you're not calling them at 2:30 in the morning!

guitone, different businesses have different e-mail practices. You might be used to e-mailing amazon.com and getting a reply back the same day, but not all businesses, and particularly not small businesses, have the same infrastructure. It's just the way it goes when you work with small business. If you find a week has gone by with no reply to your e-mail, either resend it, or call them.

Unless the question is extremely personal or something, which I doubt, you could probably ask it here anyway.

I had asked a bunch of question relating to a custom (obviously) and since these were on their site I have no record of it...so I am hoping they will resend their reply to me, but this is not the first time with slow responses, but since they told me that my emails had bounced I was hoping that they would resend now that they know I am getting their emails...well we will see. I am a simple guy, if someone wants to my business bad enough they will reply to my messages, if not there are always alternatives, and as yet I have not decided who will get my business for sure...thanks for all of the input, but at this time I am not going to call England on this, I will just see if Wested will respond.. I would think that Peter has seen this tread and would want to get my my answers.

Well, again, you could ask the questions here. Plenty of regular COW members who have had custom work done by Peter before.

And, at the end of thday, of course you can take your business where you see fit. If you want a jacket made by the folks who made Harrison's jacket in the Indy films, of course, there is only one place to consider.

Rob, no disrespect, I just have to try and remember what my questions were......wish I had them all in my email history. When it becomes important enough for me I am sure I will remember and post them.

The EXACT same thing happened to me when I first started with my gear. I could not send Peter any emails from my personal account. I had to use Hotmail or my work account. Then they went through.

Just my $0.02

Wow......where could one take their business after going to the top?
I had a few frustrating emails with them before I called - and I am glad I did.....I have never owned a better jacket than my Wested......except perhaps my dad's original A-2

 You know ,there is a thing called patience....Patience is a viture!
Things happen. beyond our control. There could be a virus problem, part of their computer hardware went bad, there is a number of things that could have gone wrong. My friend Brad, has been in the Computer Business, Owner & operator for the past 18 Years. Their can be many problems. Give it a day or two. Re-send your E-Mails, I know that they will send you a reply. Their site may have gone down because a computer that went dead. If it is that much of an emergency, pick up the telephone and call. I have called Wested several times. you can call your telephone company and add International calls for a short time. That will save you maga bucks, on calls. approx. 1/4 of the cost. I know that Wested ,will almost bend over backwards to satisfy their customers. Please just give it some time. Just hang in there. We have all been through this kind of stuff, you are not alone. All things will work out in time.. 8)

I too, like Pyro, had problems from certain addresses. Try opening up a new Hotmail account or similar. That did it for me.
They seem to have issues with their Spam filter, though I'm not sure whether they just don't check it or if the messages just get deleted directly.

Glad you finally found a new assistant, Peter! I've seen several folks refer to a 'Gemma', but thought they were just mispelling a name. Glad to know who it is now. Regards. Michaelson
