Screen Zipper

What's the screen accurate zipper look like? Is it like what comes on the Westeds? Just wondering. I'm pretty sure the one on my US Wings isn't any good.

I think the zipper used on the Raiders jacket was a nickle zipper and not as heavy duty as the brass zippers Wested uses now.

As far as I recall, the screen used zipper was a silver coloured zip painted brass by the costume dept.

The brass paint wore off as the production continued, I believe.

Michaelson once told me about this, perhaps he will see this thread and chip in.

It was aluminum, painted antique brass, which quickly wore off, then the zipper fouled. They never offered the jacket with the aluminum zip again. The Wings jacket has the U. S. standard zip on the lefthand side. The screen used jacket (Wested) uses the right hand European zip, as does the FS Expedition. Regards. Michaelson
