Some newbie help, please.
Hi,
I'm new to whips and I have a few questions.
What is the absolute very best length whip to learn with? My great uncle used a forty-five foot long whip on the ranch driving emus but I think this is too long for me. Who makes the most perfect Indiana Jones whip? I know they are all the same but I'm looking for the one that is the cheapest and looks screen accurate. Which is better and more screen accurate, 8 plait, 10 plait or 12 plait? Is kangaroo leather strong? Is it possible to crack a whip around a tree limb and swing from it? Who makes the best whip holster and why? How do I cure whip slip? Will David Morgan make me a whip with a cable core? Why are his whips so expensive? Why do David Morgan's whips look like they have shorter handles then the movie whips? How do I darken a whip? Once I darken a whip how do I lighten it? What is the difference between the Western Stage Props and US wings Indy whips? What surface should I crack my whip on? Do I really need to treat the whip with leather dressing? I've watched all the Indy movies 268.37 times (I paused LC to type this) and have never seen him use Pecards. Where do I buy Pecards from? What is the best way to tie on a cracker? How do I re-tie the end of my whip? Is it legal to carry a whip at the supermarket? Are the swivel handle whips accurate? What is a "fall" and why does it have to be replaced?
I'm surprised I couldn't find answers to these in the top five posts of the first page of this forum.
EDIT: My parents say I can't have a whip. Thanks anyway.

Ya dude, what are you thinking?!
You should stick to real weapons like guns and such, or at the very least play more video games instead of learning a skill.
My suggestion, sit down with your parents and explain to them that this is a hobby you would like to get into. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would like to help you get started.
Trick is, do the research, find the people that can help, even maybe practice with a rope....show your parents that you are responsible and interested enough that they might understand that your not gonn go around whipping people, or start your own slave tra....er....you know what I mean!

Oh,
Do you know where i can get thoes little replica hat whip bands? i want one but my mom dosent want me to get it. She thinks i might get a boo boo. While on the topic of hats, i was wondering, is a 10 inch brimmed hat screen accurate? I just got a straw sombrero and i thought it looked quite a bit like indys hat. Do you think it will protect me from the sun? also, does straw shrink?
Seriously the posts that have been put up lately make this place look like TheRave"n. We need to keep our civility so as to not scare away our newest members. We want to keep this place friendly.
