Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi to everyone.I'm a keen whipcrackerand I have a few whips I'd like to tell you about.
My first whip is the same as the one posted by Relichunter a few posts down,6' cowhide, but I went for the 10 plait expensive one which was $64(haha).Actually,I learned a lot with it,and I absolutely abused it to bits and it still cracks quite well and I still like to take it out now and again. My next one was an 8' Rhett Kelly nylon Indy style bullwhip. The reason I chose nylon was because of the weather here in Scotland. For about 7-8 months we get rain, snow, sleet, ice, fog and then winter kicks in!!LOL. After the cheap whip,Rhetts whip is an absolute joy to handle and when you want it to,you can make it sound like a cannon going of,and it's so fluid and a good falling whip, excellent for multiple cracking.Just yesterday, my pair of 5'6''stockwhips from AWS @Mike Murphy arrived,so I've not had the chance to crack them yet,but they look great and I'm looking forward to getting some two-handed routines on the go.
So that about covers it up to now. I'm going to the British Juggling convention in Perth, which is about 25mins away on Sunday. They're having a whipcracking workshop there so looking forward to meeting some other like-minded people and having some fun.
So,keep cracking everyone and all the best from Fife in Bonnie Scotland

Hi Indiana Texas-girl
I met up with Indiana Ken yesterday and we went to a park and had a good session cracking our whips. There's a biiiiiig difference between the stockwhips and the 8' bullwhip I've been using. I think you need a bit more wrist action with the stockwhips and I also think they'll get a bit easier once they're broken in,but, as they say, I'll give it a lash!!

Was great to meet you the other day and thanks for the lift home too I REALLY appreciated that! You are really getting into this whip cracking hobby and have learnt so much more than me since Christmas than I have in the last 2 years.
Hope we can find a way to get the video clips up on the site here of your whip cracking!
