Hey all,
Just recently had to replace the fall on my 10' DM for the second time. Went from a white one back to a red hide, b/c it was all I had laying around. I;ve been cracking with it for a few weeks now and can really tell a difference...oddly enough not in the white hide's favor.
Yes, the white hide doesn't break off and hence, lasts longer, BUT it stretches like nothing can, and as it does, I found I was often forced to adjust my wrist timing constantly to accomodate the extra length.
Since putting a red fall on again, and securing the popper with a medium size fall knot, I have found nirvana. I can now crack in consistent cycles at the same rhythm with consistent whip performance due to the fall not stretching, and with the knot I set being slightly larger than the original red hide knot I had years ago, the fall is really holding up to the strain.
Just thought I'd let you all know.
Mike
