FS Lamb, 40R---Back length ? USWings comment on sizing...

Post by GMoore »

Hi all,

Anyone got a FS Lamb, 4O REG ?

If so, what's the back length measured from neck seam ?

Also, how's the drape on the FS ? I really love my MED Wings Lamb, but the darn shoulder-armholes are HUGE, so that it billows out like a sail at the back. I could fit two of my arms into each armhole (I'm 6', 40 REG in a suit, with 12" biceps). They must've used GIANTS for their sizing templates. (Happily, the back length is perfect, though.) I'm tempted to order a Small, just to see the difference.

Somebody said the FS Lamb was very lightweight---like a windbreaker ?

Anyway, any and all info on the FS 40 Reg (measurements, etc.) would be appreciated.

Regards,
Gerard

Hello,

I've had a 40 reg FS lamb for about 2 months and I love how it drapes.
From the bottom neck seam to the bottom of the back flap is 24" The arm holes seem perfect. The FS is a very high quality jacket. I also have a Wested lamb raiders and find that it is a bit lighter than the FS. If you try the FS and don't like the fit they will be glad to take it back. I also have a brand new Wested cowhide raiders 42Reg that I think I'm going to put up for sale, It is a bit to heavy for my taste.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck,

I know you mentioned a Wings jacket but I can give you my experience with Gibson & Barnes/Flightsuits and Wested. Regarding the measurement about which you asked, my 40R G&B Expo is right at 25 inches and my 44R Wested is at 24 1/2 inches. My Expo lamb draped much better than my Expo cowhide but that's due to the nature of the beast, I mean hide. I had the same experience with lamb and cowhide Westeds too.

The arm holes of both my Wested and Expo were, and are, just right.

My Expeditions have always been much heavier than my Westeds. This is good b/c I use the heavier Expos for the colder weather (obviously) and the Westeds are great for Spring and Autumn.

Just my experience,

Thanks very much for your replies.

Incidentally, if anyone's got a pic to upload, that would be fine too.

I don't have a lamb Expo, but I do have a goat Expo. It has a 40R torso and 40S sleeves. I measure 24.5" from the bottom of the neck seam to the edge of the back panel.
