Raiders Grips Help

Here's my "Raiders" gun, an Airsoft .357 Magnum with a 4" barrel. The only problem is the grip:

Does anyone have any ideas to make the grips more "Raiders?"

Hi Relic,

I was eyeing that one, too, and wondering about the grips.

Hopefully there's someone out there who might be able to dole out some advice.

I think ob1al made some attempts to alter the grips of a CO2 gun only to find out that they were actually essential to keep it in working order. (Housing of the gas cartridge?)
I'm not sure how this one works, but if the grips do come off I think you could get a nice result by filing them down or even buy real replacement ones and attach yourself?
I'd try and find out how it is actually built and then take it from there.
It looks great I think!

That Police Special is an excellent Indy gun substitute!

@Relic Hunter - as Swindiana pointed out, the grips may indeed be an integrated part of the CO2 cartridge housing. If not, see if they can be removed or maybe even replaced. If you're going at the grips with files and a heat gun, this is what they should look like when you're done:

Is it hard to find original grips (either .455 or .45 style.)?

Those Colt Police Positives are also great "Indy era" weapons...
As for the grips... yes, original ones or NOS are hard to find - they go for major wads of cash on eXxx. There are reproductions, though - I have found some listed on Numrich Gun Parts and are described like this:

Grips, Service, .455 British - Plain Walnut, Original Refinish Walnut, Complete

They go for about $32, but are currently out of stock and have been so for a while.

About that name-calling... what do you prefer - Strindlund, Olsson or Baggebo?
