Here's a couple comparision pics. The shiny whip is one that I finished this last weekend. The other one is the second whip I made, which was back in the fall of 1992. That whip went to my great uncle shortly after I had finished it. He passed on recently and the whip has come back to me. The handle is the butt of a pool cue.
Anyway, by the looks of my second whip, it should just go to show you that for anybody who wants to get into whipmaking it doesn't matter what your first whip looks like as long as you learn from it and try to make the next whip better.

You aren't using it at the office?binkmeisterRick wrote:Now if it would only warm up or get drier outside so I could crack my IOAB whip!
I agree w/ Bink, Adam, it's an amazing amount of progress! Keep up the good work!
(I am required to admit that this is a biased comment coming from a happy owner of an Adam Winrich IOAB whip. )

Hey Dan,
Has Pete gotten his new whip, yet?
For those of you that like the looks of the target whip pictured above I have another whip done in the same colors for sale on Ebay right now. It's a short one, only 56 inches long, but it's really cute. Search for 16-plait two-tone Kangaroo Bullwhip, Bull Whip.
With the older whip pictured above, I was 11 when I made it and I had almost no clue as to what I was doing I must say the some of the beginner whipmakers out there have gotten off to a much better start than I did. Given Molorom's age, I'm sure he could turn into the next Joe Strain, if he wanted to.

thats is a incredible complement !
Ive been working incredibly hard to improve all of my skills. Sometimes things get really hard to deal with, for example, i split 5 strands in half the other day while trying to split them, and i guess i was going abit to thin. I just try to stay in it though, as i hope one day it will all be worth it. My first whip, which i made 3 years ago looks very simillar to the one you posted. Though the color of the leather was white and i had made the whip very short. I still have it actually. made it very soon after i joined this forum. Here are a few pictures of it: http://omarswhipbazaar.150m.com/Myfirstwhip.htm
I actually revamped the whip 2 weeks after it was finished, and made it look much nicer. And the black one in this picture is one of my most recently finished cowhide whips.(ive made 3 since this one has been finished.) http://www.freewebs.com/wolfpitwhips/MVC-020X2.JPG So add me to the list as having started because of jones. the story you have on the front page of your website is extremely simillar to mine. It even adds more to it with the fact that we bolth have the same name.
Kindest Regards
Adam
