Rush order?

Post by McFly »

Hey guys,

1 or 2 of you may know that I'll be going to Cancun, Mexico next Wednesday... more of you know that I recently ordered a cotton Wested. Apparently, according to Peter, the jacket is "cut and almost done."

Have any of you ever had a rush order, where they might do stuff a little faster and get it to you sooner? It's scheduled to arrive the afternoon of the day that I leave, but the problem is that I leave at like 7am, so the jacket won't get here till after I'm gone, and then I'm gone for a week.

In Christ,
Shane

Yes, Wested has done things in the past, but no, it is not specifically a service they offer.

I believe they DO have different shipping options - including an overnight? But they are EXPENSIVE.

Beyond that, I know they did juggle orders in-house when some folks requested theirs for Halloween. But they only had so much wiggle room to work with.

If yours is done, you can't really speed it up beyond changing the shipping option before they ship. If yours is being worked now, the best you can do beyond that is just explaining the situation and asking that they please try to ship it out a day earlier.

But keep in mind, even if they get it out two or three days earlier, that isn't much margin to work w/ if there is some delay in the shipping.

I think my idea is a good one. Is it too simple to work?

I think so... cuz if it gets there early, or late, they won't know what to do with it. lol

My apologies, Snakewhip, I thought you were kidding.

Taken seriously, then...if it were a big hotel, that he was confident in - sure. People ship stuff to hotels all the time.

But if this got hung up in customs in that country...he might be home from vacation before it clears. At least if it's destined for his home, early, late, whatever, it will go to him eventually.

(I'm picturing an entire Mariachi band in Westeds...thanks for the visual. ;))

I had the same problem when a pair of Aldens were scheduled to be delivered the afternoon when I was going on a camping trip.

Theres a chance Wested might work with you - but you will HAVE TO call them. Don't rely on email communications!

Good luck shane!
