I'm surprised too that they didn't go up in price earlier. I guess this is just what'll happen when sources go out in the open...
James;
Nothing new on the Mk VII front. However, I still have a few links that will have them from time to time. Just check them periodically and I'm sure you'll get lucky in case you're still looking. Let me know.
Still, SoF is as steady as they get and compared to most other gear it is fairly low priced I think. And like Michaelson said, it's good to know that they are there in case something happens to your current bag.
Regards,
Swindiana

Not Extinct Yet
It's a small world of dealers in smelly old surplus. SOF has just ordered some repro WPG bags to try to keep up with demand. Meanwhile, I've discovered a stash of used MK VII bags in another part of the world, and I am currently negotiating to get them sent to USofA. Stay tuned for further developments. When I have them they will be on the web page, and not before. That's all I can say for now.

When it happens, remember to go back and amend the bit on your site about how you eradicated the world of original MKVIIs previouslywpg wrote:It's a small world of dealers in smelly old surplus. In this picture his bag has the loop,just above the little pocket with the eyelet.

Do you mean the loop or the divider?What, the bit that everyone cuts off the originals to be screen accurate?

Hit the search button and search for "gas mask bag." That should do the trick.

I have to agree with Rob on this. When the word gets out with the Indy-relation, prices climb and sources starts drying out. They were low priced at Soldier of Fortune for very long, until recently. Not trying to raise fingers or blame anyone, this is just what happens I guess when it gets out in the open...

Exactly what I was thinking. Theres no need to go into detail, especially not about how the W&G version was used in the film. Some monumentally stupid person was also doing this on ebay, informing the sellers of militaria of what the bags were.....I doubt it was anyone on here, were all smarter than that - I think.If people had stayed 'mum' about this, and just bought the bags, rather than obsessing Indy details to them, I don't think we'd be in this situation...

I guess it would be a good idea to take a chance on a dirty one for 10 pounds now - QUIETLY - before they decide to make ALL of the MKVII bags more expensive.
Did I mention, QUIETLY?
Oh, hey, fair warning...their button to 'confirm order', doesn't take you to another page to confirm the order, that's really the 'submit order' button. Maybe that didn't trip anyone else, but it's a bit of a different format from pretty much everywhere else I shopped online this past holiday season. That helped me over the ambivalent stage...it was too late, I'd already ordered.

Anybody have problems ordering from SoF? Specifically, using a Discover card? Or better yet, have NO problems ordering from them w/ a Discover card? I'm wrangling out something w/ them.
