To satisfy my burning curiousity, I sent an email to Wested when we were discussing the possibility of sending Wested your own kangaroo or bison hides for an extra-special custom made an Indy jacket and got the following response:

"Sorry, but we like to adhere to that which we know works best. Regards Gerry"

Makes sense in light of keeping the Wested pure. Otherwise, you might have people sullying the 'bloodline' with pink vinyl next.

Oh well, I guess US Wings will remain the only source for a kangaroo jacket. Pity, as the leather is really fantastic.

That's fascinating intelligence, _. Do you know if he sells skins to individuals (if one were able to find the right tailor...)?

Kangaroo lurks in the shadows of this forum mainly because of cost and screen accuracy, and the fact that the Indiana ‘Roo market is cornered by one-size-fits-all US Wings. It seems that Wested has steadily added to the variety of offered leathers over the years (probably according to demand: the 'authentic' colors), and in that light, it may just be a matter of time before Peter includes kangaroo in his repertoire and provides would-be explorers with this exotic, adventure-ready hide and a tailored fit.

Yes, David Morgan sells hides to end users. Well some the members of this forum have bought hides from David Morgan to make their whips. I am not sure how the hide needs to be prepped/dyed for jackets.
