Not distressing but disINFECTING help!

Post by Koreana Jones »

I just killed a rat with my Pocket Bull and boy the rat didn't know what hit him. Literally! I assume I got him on the head because I saw its eyes turn completely red and got him on the tail because the thing was severed. Just to be clear... Tail first then head. Now only God knows what germs and bacteria this thing carried and I really don't want to take a risk getting myself infected/sick. Oh shoot... My nose just fell off. I am being honest about this. My nose really did fall off! "Get on with it!" Alright! No need to shout. What would be good to kill germs/bacteria without harming the leather? Thanks in advance! And I @#$% you not... There is some real power with these Pocket Bulls. God I love them. I can't thank Kyle enough for making these things. Second thought... Yes I can. Kyle, you'll won't be hearing anymore praises out of me for your Pocket Bull! Have a good one!

Best Regards,
Jun

Lol, Baphy once again, you have proven yourself worthy of the title of "Pocket Bull Master of the World." Lol, that's just crazy my friend, for some odd reason I wish I could have been there to see this, morbid mind. Well anyway, moving on, the only whip cleaning procedure I have ever heard was to soak the whip in soapy water, then to dry quickly, maybe hair dryer, then give the whip a BIG dose of pecards. I can't remember where I heard that, I think the DM main site. You can try that, or use some lysol and pecards after.

Rats... Why did it have to be rats?

I would be inclined to give the infected area a good dousing in alcohol.
It evaporates fast but also will do a good job disinfecting stuff.
After that give it a thorough pecarding.

LOL! Staphene is a very effective bactericide, fungicide, and virucide. That's what I hear is safe to use on leather. However, it will not disinfect 100%. Note to self: stick a biohazard sticker on KJ's PocketBull. :-)

My recommendation (take it with a grain of salt): Use Goldschlagger...it'll smell cinnamony good when you're done.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have seen you slay this rat. (Of course, I'd want to be looking at the scene through a window. Having a Pocket Bull do the job, you must a been a pretty good sneaker-upper on the rat for him to not have darted.

Ya know, too bad Pecards doesn't have a disinfectant Jell...no telling what kind of germs our whips pick up on a normal cracking session.

The problem is that there is no way to 100% disinfect leather. But if it's just the fall, then do the staphene. It's more effective than alcohol.

But if you are dead serious, maybe an autoclave which uses gas for sterilization and not heat. Often called chemicalves, use a vapor solution to sterilize its contents. Unlike the humid environment produced by conventional steam, the unsaturated chemical vapor method is a low-humidity process.

Gee, I hope this helps. 8)

Oh man! Too funny! I never know when to take you serious or not. Seriously, you could also just cut off the fall and replace it. I'm sure that's all that hit the lil' critter anyway, or so I hope...

As long as you don't get a sudden, unexplainable urge for cheese, I think you should be alright.

It may be too late for you Baphy! Even now that rat bacteria is making it's way through your nervous system. It's been nice knowing you ... ok actually it hasn't. Hope this helps.
