Doh! #-o Foiled again! I knew I should have waited a couple days before going through your wallet! And what exactly is a trebuchet?

It's a form of catapult. Here's a fun website:
http://www.trebuchet.com/

I tried to send some packages that way once, but I kept missing the mark.

Yeah, you missed the mark alright - you still owe me the cost of those three new windows...and just what were you doing trying to send bricks to folks anyway?

Trebuchets...very dangerous...you go first.
That is a fun website! Hmm, maybe I'll try that out as a "natural" method for distressing my Wested when it arrives!

Edit
Hey Bink I just had a great idea. Instead of sifting through each other's wallets why don't we join forces?

And you should see the state of my poor cat.

It still thinks it's Napoleon after that knock on the head.

I mean, if that thing calls me Josephine one more time...just once more...I won't be responsible for my actions.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

And yes, Michaelson, I've seen the "piano hurler." Man, what fun.

Shanghai, sure, I'll join forces with you on that!

Hey, to toss things back on topic, what if Wested used a gaint trebuchet to send their jackets? Air mail, anyone?

Patience, my firend. I think some have suggested "forgetting" about the jacket so when it does arrive, it's a pleasant surprise. It truly will be worth the wait. Hang in there!

regarding shipping time from the UK to the midwest:

They shipped mine on a Thursday (UK time) and my post office tried to deliver it that next Monday - and I'm in L.A. But I could have been lucky. That sounds like the minimum, like it made every light and never sat still.

Thanks Bink! I'll do my best, but patience is not my strong suit - I'm more in the "instant gratification" mold - but I'll work on it (don't have much choice do I?)

Bruce, when did you place your order? Gerry told me 3 weeks (from Nov 11th)-although I haven't heard anyone getting their jacket in less than a month, so Im not expecting mine until the beginning of the 2nd week of Dec.

I know what you mean, Bruce. I keep waiting for Fedora to open shop so I can get my AdventureBilt fedora. I can hardly wait, but I know it'll pay off when everything's in order!

I ordered mine on October 22, 2004. Guess I'll have to wait. The only problem is that by the time I get my jacket, it will be too cold around here (Lexington, MA) to wear for a while - bummer!!

What makes it even worse is that my kids and I are in the midst of an Indiana Jones Marathon (each film then bonus material), and I'm just ITCHING for my jacket!!!!

Just as an update:

I got my Wested goat on Tuesday Nov. 16th! I ordered it September 3rd, just to give you some idea of what sort of wait you may face now. I love it, and it is definitely a keeper! Probably one of the best works that has come out of Wested, or any jacket company period, that I've seen. I'll try to post a more in depth review and pics later (partially due to popular request!)

Woohoo! \:D/ It's been confirmed, my Raiders in authentic goat which I ordered on Sept. 7th was shipped out last Friday. As of 20-11-2004 04:39
it was:

International Hub
Left origin country

Now, does anyone have any idea how long it's going to take to get from England to Japan? Anyone want to start a pool? I bet it takes about 8-9 days, not including any hold ups at customs. Pics soon, I hope!

Ah, I remember this thread when it was just a baby. How it's grown! Pretty soon it'll be able to fend for itself on the server without all of this attention. Almost brings a tear to my eye to see it so ready to leave the nest. Who knows, maybe it will come back to when some fledgling jacket owner discovers it.

Jack I'm sure yours will be there soon. It sounds like the jackets have started arriving! Have you emailed or called Wested to see if it has been shipped yet?

Mine was shipped last Friday too. Maybe mine will arrive today also!
.....................
Looks like it's in my city, but maybe not since it's the 25th not the 26th yet. Hmm typo on the postal service's part or have I fallen into a timeslip? Maybe I'll head over to the airport and see if I can sort it out.8-[

Well, it isn't actually an Indy jacket, but the Bond jacket.
I couldn't decide which one to buy, but finally I came to the conclusion that the Bond jacket would suit my climate better. But I am sure I will buy an Indy jacket soon or later. Probably sooner. :D

Well, my spidy senses were tingling that something was up with my order. I sent an email out last weekend to have them check my order over to make sure all specs had been met and instructing them to notify my with a ship date as I knew my order would be coming to a close. Hadn't recieved an email all week so I called Wested this morning to check on my order-yesterday was 3 weeks to the day and when it was supposed to be done.

Well they hadn't even started on my jacket yet. They received a couple bad batches of horsehide and were waiting on another shipment. Major disappointment. :(

They asked me if I wanted to choose another hide and they would get started.....but I'm deadset on the horsehide. I really like the fact I will have something a little more unique with HH. I can appreciate the fact that they want good quality hides, but I wish they would have emailed me to let me know of the delay. Now it will be Christmas or later before I get it (unless they give my order priority, which they did not mention, and I will not hope for).

They said they will email me next week with an update on the hide

Bjones - If the russet tone of the color was the final driver in your decision, I'd ask them if they're still seeing that kind of color in the hides they are getting. If not, you could always go back to your second choice - goat, right? - J

Yeah, I could do that Jerry, but I think I'm sold on the HH. The more examples I see of jackets in HH (wested or other), the more I like the look of that leather (in all its various colors).

Gerry just sent me an email stating that they will be unable to complete my order by Christmas and that it will most likely roll into the new year. Cow hide, it seems, would be the only the choice to make Christmas. While I sure would like my jacket by christmas, I'm gonna stick to my guns and get what I wanted. I don't want to spend the money and just settle.
