My TOD jacket

Post by Ace »

Follow-up on this tread http://www.indygear.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9748

I just got the jacket from Krzysztof Smigiel and Im very pleased with it.
The delivery was 3 days, great communication and the jacket fitted as if it was made especially for me.

The jacket looks and smells brand new and the scratches made by mr. Krzyztof himself is very hard to see with the naked eye. I was impressed how light this lamb jacket is comparred to my cow-jacket.

Here are some quick pictures I took the minute I was able to try the jacket on.

The jacket looks great on you!
Do you like the lamb better than the cow?

Whats not to like. The lamb sure is nice to wear. The cow-leather is very durable but also very heavy to wear. I like them both but the Wested lamb is my favorite. The cow-jacket is not made by wested but has been a good and cheap substitute until now.

The used wested lamb jacket was about half the price of one from Peter´s Wested shop in the UK.

Yeah I know Marc. I guess your the man to talk to when Im ready for a real Indy fedora :-) The fedora I have right now was the first piece of Indy gear I got. It was about 14 years ago. I guess I have been holding on to it a bit too long now. Maybe it´s time for a change. I will still keep the old one though, it was what started my Indy interest.

You could just have it reblocked.

Yeah, I hope reblocking my old hat will do the trick. I will try to bash it with steam and see if it looks better.

Your jacket looks awesome Ace. It's great when you score a nicely cared for Wested at a screaming good price. I should know, I just scored a few myself. :D

However, if I can peel my eyes away from the idol for a minute, it certainly appears that the jacket does indeed look like it was tailor made for you! Congratulations on the good buy! It looks good on you!

Now back to that idol.............

You just couldn't help yourself with the idol, could you?
No I could not

Thanks for all your feedback guys. I dont think I could have taken the risc buying a used jacket if it hadn't been for all you great research posts in this forum. I made a lot of measures on my old jacket trying to determine what size was best for me and suddenly "WHOAW" Krzysztof had a jacket in just that size in the classifieds. What luck !

I think I will contribute to the caption contest.
Ace: Looks a little short to me but hey I think I'll grab it.
Idol: Who are you calling short you big insensitive ape

Thanks Ace

How about this one:

Ace: Are you supposed to be the ancient chachapoyan artifact. ??
Idol: Are you supposed to be the Indiana Jones look-alike ?
Ace: I might depends on who's asking
Idol: Me, Im the Marion look-alike. So you're my date for tonight.
