Elastic on Westeds?

Post by Vegeta1126 »

Well this is more of a curioisity question then anything but I was looking on ebay as I do from time to time and I found a Wested that had elastic on the cuffs and the waist, like an A2 sort of, but it has the Wested tag and all on there and was just wondering if they actually made them like that. You can check it on ebay if you like, but since I can't post ebay links that aren't mine just search Wested on ebay you'll see it. Just wondering if he actually did this because this is the first time I have ever seen that, not that I would ever get that on my jacket.

Yes, very interesting!

That's not an Indy jacket. It has elsticated cuffs and waist, as you say, and a chain peg hanger - I've never seen that before on a Wested.

I think it might be a flight jacket by Wested, maybe for another movie they were involved in called 'Memphis Belle'. Just a hunch.

One further thought, it could be a very cusomised Indy maybe intended for biking or something, I guess?

Yeah I noticed the chain thing as well. It could be from another movie and he was just misinformed, though I was looking at it closer and the pockets do not look at all the same either. The only thing that looks like it would make it is a Wested is the lining, well I don't know too confusing :?

Wested makes alot more jackets than just the Indy jacket.

They make a B-3, an A-2, a modified A-2 style for the movie Aliens, the
Minority Report jacket, a copy of the jacket Mel Gibson wore in the
Lethal Weapon movie, ext, ext...

They make all different kinds of leather jackets, and not just ones that
have been in movies. Although, those seem to be their bread and butter
so to speak. The Indy jacket is just one of their varied offerings.

It sure would be nice to see their full lineup as for what else they can make. While I like the Indy jacket (as well all here do), I'm not planning on owning multiple jackets in different leathers(hopefully my horsehide will last me some good years). Since Wested is known for kicking out high quality, it would be nice to see the other styles they produce (or would produce for the public). Maybe they aren't staffed to do it with their movie contracts...I dunno

Here you go.

If you do a search for items like "James Bond" or "Leathal Weapon" you'll find posts from other gearheads that have ordered Wested jackets from other movies. And, their reports have been that they were quite satisfied with the results.

Yeah I figured this was probably a Wested from another movie, although it was clearly advertised as the Indiana Jones jacket in the auction, so you know maybe he was just misinformed I suppose.

I sent the seller a message regarding his error in the title and description. If enough similar messages arrive in his mailbox, perhaps he will modify the auction....

Thanks Pyro,

Yeah I've seen those, but they don't really advertise that you can order one like you can the Indy...but I guess the others aren't nearly as well known.
