New goat shipment at Wested ?

Post by darth64 »

Does anyone know if Wested received their new goat shipment?
Is it a good one for the jackets?

I imagine that as soon as they have the goat skin, someone would post it here. To my knowledge, they haven't received it yet, but I haven't made any formal inquiries.

Goatskin is very durable, and should hold up if you're dragged from a truck. ...at least, it'll hold better than lambskin will.

I understood it was supposed to be shipped on Tuesday, not necessarily RECEIVED on tuesday, so I doubt if it's arrived yet. Regards. Michaelson

I know Ken was talking to Peter about this on Saturday and Wested were still waiting for the delivery of the goat.

Ken would be able to tell you more if he reads this thread, but I'm sure it'll be arriving very soon. :)

I'm just getting around to saying that's a fine avatar, Ken. If it were mine that'd be my wife with the gun.

Thanks! It was a little disconcerting examinging the barrel of a gun from that particular angle I must say.

Wow....I'm a bit more than bummed! I just ordered my jacket on October 22, and Peter's email said that he expects to dispatch the same within 28 days! Being new to this, I don't have my "old" jacket to fall back on while I'm waiting. I guess that it gives me more time to get the rest of my gear together (although I am still really dissapointed 'cause I was REALLY looking forward to getting my jacket!!!).

Don't be too bummed Bruce. Like you this will be my first Wested. I ordered it on Sept. 7 and it still isn't here. Don't worry, when it comes it will have been well worth the wait. BTW what version of the jacket and in what leather did you order?

Hey Jack!

I ordered the Last Crusade in Goat. I apparently am one of the few that actually LIKES the larger collar! Also I ordered the authentic brown with the antique brass D rings, X-box stitches on the straps, cotton body - satin sleeves, extra inside pocket, and gussets.

I know about waiting too......several years ago I ordered a US Wings Flying Tigers jacket which took about 5 months!! I must have called every two weeks during that period and there seemed to be one delay after another!!
No fun at all.

I just ordered my Raiders Aunthentic brown goat this morning, 11/2, and Wested said that there still waiting for the order of goat to come in, but he said it'll be about 3 weeks! I didnt get many extras, just 2 piece under arm gussets, and antique brass zips and d-ring. Pretty simple jacket. And since I was telling myself that I would be saving money on shipping, I ordered the pants and shirt as well!

Well, the famous Wested wait can be tough, but look at it this way; the pioneers of Indy gear had to wait years before finally getting their hands on accurate Indy jackets, so a month or two isn't so bad really in the grand scheme of things.

To paraphrase Harold McMillan, 'We've never had it so good'!

And when the jackets finally arrive, I'm sure all the angst will be swiftly forgotten as you bask in the glory that is 'authentic brown goatskin'! :D

I think the waiting is half the fun!

I'm sure Peter will have your jackets ready and shipped just as soon as he possibly can guys.

See with your eyes, not your hands.
To make this post a little less off-topic, I will add a question about the shipment of goat. As I ordered a jacket made of cowhide, does this mean that I might get my jacket sooner than expected, as Wested might have fewer jackets to work on?

Probably, yeah. The goatskin still hasn't arrived by all accounts, but the hide is in stock and good to go!

Now give...me...that...ticket!

Goatskin? No, I was talking about the actual goats. :P
But it would be great if my jacket could be done in less than 28 days.

What was that last thing?! I can't hear you over the sound of all this money! You have to speak up!

Lottery fraud is a serious offense - split the dough or I'll sing like a canary! :P

I'd guess it will be with you in the sepcified 28 days or sooner - you could call Wested on the phone and ask - just in time for your court appearance, eh? Now show me the money!

When I called yesterday, whoever I talked to on the phone ( didnt catch his name, im horrible at trying to understand people with accents...dont ask), said that the new shipment of goat is supposed to arrive this week.
As for the wait, I dont think it'll be that bad. Try waiting for the next NHL season to begin! That could be over a year!!!
I guess good ol' beer hockey leagues will hafta make due for now...
Also, my birthday is December 3rd, so if the shipment arrives on time.....I should be getting a nice Wested Raiders for my b-day!!

I just received (today November 5) a mail from Gerry saying about the new gaot shipment:

''It should be in later today - we will see when it gets here. I will be
able to tell you more on Monday, when I am next in, if it arrives after
I have left (I only work part time in school hours!)''

Good news!

There's certainly movement on the authentic goat - why does that sound so funny? :)

I was waiting for my (goatskin jacket) collar to be changed out to a LC 'Elvis' style  and received it yesterday - so the goat is go! :)

I wonder if this means that my jacket will soon be on its way since I ordered it before Darth64? I'm going to try to not get my hopes up just in case. But it sounds like jackets have started being shipped out again which is great news at any rate.
