Possible Pants Option?

Post by OmegaIndy »

Don't know if this has been mentioned before but I came across some Cavalry Twill Indy pants for sale on Amazon.
Sizes available are in Big & Tall only but they have double pleats and button through back pockets. You get brown or navy to choose from as far as colors go.
Of all people to be endorsing them I should have known George Foreman's name would come up sooner or later. :D

Hmmm... too bad they don't come any lighter. I'd like to see a back view of these pants. Button through pockets don't necessarily mean pocket flaps, though. Not a bad find for a regular pair of pants, though!

Yeah, I guess you're right about the back pockets.

Gap's authentic khaki come very close -- just no pocket flaps.

For close enough, the 'Walmart Indy Shirt' includes a link to a set of pants available through Walmart - $20.

What's not right about them? Button THROUGH pockets instead of flaps, small cuff at the bottom, and although I think the taupe color is GREAT it is a 'heather' taupe, made up of taupe and grey/white thread, which some folks might not like. Oh, and a zipper and an interesting 'comfort waist', but these aren't visible features.

But I've got em and love em, they are my Indy pants until I get something dead on...like those surplus vintage pants...those look pretty good. Bink, you picked up some, how 'indy-accurate' are those? I didn't see that discussed in that thread, but I was curious.

EDIT: The pics in this thread weren't meant to showcase the pants, but I'm wearing them and the $10 Walmart Faded Glory (Stone color) shirt in the pics:

Hey, Has anyone checked recently to see if L.L.Bean has restocked their taupe? I've got a few pairs and they're pretty darn accurate.

Man, I would love to shell out the dough for this, but would rather put it toward a Stenhouse. Anyone ponder these before?

Also, there are these Dockers that I have with the color spot on in my opinion - and the permanent creases came out with one cotton setting on my iron.

I think those are the best out there until LLbean gets there color (act) together ](*,)

I think I better tag on some pants to my Wested jacket order before they send it out... :-k

We have pondered the Orvis pants before. They come SOOOOOOO close just no front pleats.

It's tough to find pants with the exact right combination. Front pleats no flaps. Flaps no pleats. flaps and pleats but with an extra cargo pocket....

Minnesota Jones had a good idea. He ordered a pair of pants unfinished and had a tailor take the extra material when he hemmed them and make back pocket flaps. So...that may be an option during these dry spells.

Hehehe...just goes to show there are no new ideas. I was going to undo the cuffs on mine and use the extra for pocket flaps! I figure then I have all the right particulars to pass 'cursory' inspection, but I know I'd still never fool a gearhead.
