Got my Winrich IOASSB 9 footer

Post by Swindiana »

Yes, my whip arrived and it arrived quickly. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, though I do have some pictures of it.
I decided to add another $10 to make it a 9 footer and I couldn't be more happy with it. The color is beautiful and though I have little experience with whips I must say it really shines with quality work. Thanks Adam! I'll bring it to the UK summit for you folks attending to have a look at it and try it out too. Here are some shots of it:

Congratulations! The whip looks great! Have you gotten around cracking it yet? :whip:
I recommend a remote spot for those cracking sessions though...

Thanks buddy! :D

No, haven't gotten around to it yet. The weather is cold and humid here in Luleå right now so I figured you might show me how it's supposed to be done right when we meet up on Arlanda. 8)
I take it you'll bring yours too?

You bet. Maybe we could crack some life into the arrival hall of Terminal 2? I've often wondered how a whipcrack would sound indoors...

Then again, we'd better behave... otherwise, they might bump us from our London flight... :?

Congratulations Swindy,
On a beautiful acquisition. And my hat is off to Adam for making it. That is a great whip and I love the depth and character in the leather.
Enjoy it,
HJ :D

Indeed, and we don't want to disappoint all of Al's ale with not showing up.

Thanks, Hemingway. Character is the word. I will sure enjoy it, trust me. :D

Yup, you pin-pointed all the reasons to why I wanted it to be a 9 footer there, Mikey. ;) It may be harder to learn how to crack it than an 8 footer, but I'll guess that will just be my challenge.
No whipholder yet though, I'm just gonna have to carry it around for now... On a silk cushion 8)

Congrats, Swindiana! I love my OASSB whip! You'll have fun cracking it, too! It's been to wet out to do much cracking with mine, but it will give you a good workout when you get to cracking it.

Thanks, Bink! :D
I bet I'll get a good workout, and so will SJ when he tries to patch up what is left of me after the summit crackin' session.

As I mentioned it is humid and cold, and now dropping below freezing up where I'm at, so I'll just wait until I'm in the UK to give it a go.

Wish me luck, fingers crossed, hope my insurance will cover the hospital bills, remember me as one of the kinda' good guys. 8)

Yup, I'm gonna go look for that hidden "Indy wears a hockey mask" scene right now, just to be both safe and screen accurate.

Truth of the matter though, I'll make myself a temporary whipholder... Can't sleep much these days, I think something is about to happen next weekend or so. :)

Not sure, but I feel a sudden repressed urge of not wearing any pants when going... 8)

Kidding... We all know I'll wear a Fez on top of that.

Personally, I prefer the term 'vertically challenged'. 8) Peter had some serious problems customising my Wested...

Oh my.
 Thank you dear Canyon, regarding the whip. You'll get a chance to crack it too if we can find the time.

The pants thing is about me not having any Wested pants yet, or that I might have sent my pants off to England ahead of me, like Al suggested.
OR, it might just be that I have better chances getting along the flight to the summit if I wear a pair, any pair. We'll see... I hear the weather is mild in London compared to where I'm at. 8)
SJ,

I like the shot of you in your avatar, but you sure are a short 'fella.
If you actually meet SJ, you'll find out he is of normal length. It still beats me why he was so persistant to make sure his custom order for size 35 1/2 US Alden's went through...
