I happened to be going thru the Museum of Am. History at the Smithsonian last week and checked out the Indy jacket and fedora on display. Could not see the back at all...just the front (darned frustrating). Definately a LC model (snaps, pockets, collar), What was really interesting, though, was that the leather actually appeared to be cowhide as opposed to lamb. I guess that's what professional distressing does....but it could have fooled me....looked like cow.

That's what I've thought for years, but had second thoughts after seeing a photo in one of MK's posts recently...the jacket in the screen grab was a lambskin to my eye. But, that said, maybe they DID make some in cowhide as well. I've just heard to many folks state the same thing YOU just did after viewing that jacket, so I guess I'm still undecided about this one. Peter insists the were all lambskin, but also stated at first they never installed gussets in the Raiders jacket until the photos and stunt jacket info was introduced. He checked with his staff, and apparently they DID make jackets with gussets for the stunt folks, so maybe they had a few cowhide LC's made for production. Who knows?:? Regards. Michaelson
