Anybody ever get numbers on the ORIGINAL fit?

Post by Indiana Jerry »

Yeah, this info is probably lost to the depths of time, but does anyone know what size Harrison Ford was wearing (in ANY of the movies)?

More specifically, I'm wondering if anyone knows if that's his size or not - not looking for info we shouldn't have about HF, I'm really looking for if they used a tight fit or more of an oversized look, or if they actually undersized it to make him look bigger (more heroic?)...

Yeah, I agree w/ the other posts, it looks like a close fit to me on screen too, but just wondering if I missed some trivia here.

Thanks, and commence firing - IJ

I think I remember reading that the size in Raiders was a 40", but by LC it was a 42" or 44"...sorry, probably not much help but it's still too early here. Ford's jacket is definately close-fitting, not oversized in any way. I think this was deliberate, based on the initial concept design sketches for Indiana Smith.

In a recent newspaper article I quoted, where the reporter asked Peter Botwright about Ford's size, it was quoted as a 40R.

Whether this was just the Raiders jacket is unclear, but it's certainly the one kind of vaguely certified size we do have.

Actually, the two of you together answered my question - if HF's about a 40R, then a 40 in ROTLA would look pretty fitted, and then to me the fit looks a bit looser in the later ones, moreso in LC. But it could just be me.

Very cool, folks, that's what I wanted to know!
