There's apparently a huge clearance sale going on over at the US Wings website www.uswings.com where they are clearing out factory sample jackets that have been used as store displays or something. You can call the toll free number they have there and talk directly to Sgt. Hack to find out more.
They have A-2s, leather pea coats, some Schott motorcycle jackets, and other cool stuff.
For those of us who are just "into" leather jackets of all types, it looks like an easy way to get one at below cost. They start at 99 bucks.
Just a little FYI.

That's been going on for awhile now... I can remember calling a couple of months ago re: pea jackets because they were the closest off the peg thing to a Young Indy flying jacket that I could find. Sizing on those was really small... so, be warned, the pickings might be quite slim - especially all these months later. But worth a try!

Awww, ####....
And here I thought I had stumbled upon something useful for you guys.
Shows how much good I am.
Oh well, I'll go crawl back under my stack of books I have to read by next Monday.
Sorry for the overexcitedness.

No, no, no, your post may be of great interest to people who haven't seen it before! I'm just trying to temper things by saying that it's been going for awhile - and stock was already limited back in the day - so people shouldn't get too excited before they speak to Hack, or his assistant who is supposedly the only other person designated to know these super specials. (Having said that, I discussed them quite a bit with someone who was neither Hack nor his assistant )

The Dawgman was slow on the draw on this one.
Cut me some slack, fellas...i've been under several rocks for over a year or so....
Just out of curiosity-has anyone picked up one of those Schott Cafe Racer jackets? They look pretty cool-anyone have any experience with them?

Not without a beer to cry in
Really-I just have WAY too many irons in the fire. I hate feeling like I'm not doing anything well because I'm doing too much-you just feel under the gun all the time.
But all that's neither here nor there. Hopefully things will break soon.
Thanks for asking, though-I appreciate it.

Aw, heck, Dawg, that's just a day out of my regular life, so don't feel like the Lone Ranger! Take it a day at a time, and it will all shake out. It always does. President Calvin Coolidge once said..quote..'never go out and meet a problem. 9 out of 10 times someone will gladly go out and meet it for you." unquote. He also was one of the two presidents who refused the Peters Bros. Shady Oaks hat that Tom Peters gave to every sitting President since they opened their shop in 1917, so take that quote for what it's worth. Regards. Michaelson

Did he? Haha!Michaelson wrote:On that parting note, we'll also recognize that old Calvin gave the shortest speech given by a departing President to date. He calmly rose, looked around, and said...quote...'Goodbye.'...unquote...picked up his hat, and headed for the car. Never could shut that guy up. Regards. Michaelson
It reminds me of a parliament session here, earlier in the year. The leader of the opposition asked this question that went on, and on, and on... and when he finished, our Prime Minister walked to the microphone and said "No." then sat down again. The leader of the opposition sat there, sort of bewildered, with his jaw a bit slack. He had no clue what to do next. It was beautiful

Hey, thanks James-I plan on it.
I can't afford therapy anyway, so you guys are going to have to do
And Michaelson's the second wisest person on the planet anyway (second only to my own father), so I think I've got my bases covered.
But, back to this un-Indy topic-has NO ONE picked up one of those Cafe Racers?

Per burger? I have no clue. They're usually purchased by the bag. (grins)
OH yes, their very much in business down here in Tennessee. They're the South's version of the White Castle, of course. For folks from our part of the country who eat there, it's a factor that Peter needs to take into account when making OUR jackets...especially around our middles. ....and no, I don't eat there very often myself, but they're there if I ever want one.. .Regards. Oh, well, it's not like they were really that healthy, anyway. They were weapons of mass destruction in their own right! I remember you could find them just by sense of smell. The smell of the onions they used travelled for blocks! And if I really need something like that, there's a similar joint like that in Fort Wayne...

Krystal Burgers, Automatic for the People, and Athens...
We've been known, up until the last few years, as a drinking town with a football problem. Thanks to Mark Richt, that is slowly changing. Wish us luck against Marshall this coming Saturday.
No, Irwin, I don't think that diner is still open-but they do have it enshrined forever on T-shirts all over Athens. ####, Allen's closed down this past New Year's Eve-ever since then, life has been a bit emptier.
As for the Krystal Burgers-I don't know how much they are per-burger either. If I've ever found myself staring one down, I usually would have paid 20.00 for one anyway, so, it really has never mattered all that much !
Later y'all!
