Mark VII friendly water bottle?

Anyone have any success with a water bottle or canteen that fits in a Mark VII? This past weekend I brought a 32 oz. Nalgene on a hike and it just barely fit in my bag. A 16 oz. Nalgene might do the trick, but I thought I'd ask here and see if anyone has any good advice.

I have a WWII British army canteen which fits perfectly into the MKVII:-

In the novel of "Raiders"it mentions Indy pulling out a flask in the temple just before he swipes the idol.
I've been thinking about getting one myself for my bag.
I think TARGET has one cheap.

Eddie Bauer carries a nice leather-covered flask that would look awesome if distressed...

I checked the Eddie Bauer website and wasn't able to find any flasks in their catalog. Any idea what its called or how to find it? Flasks are cool but often hold small quantities. I did find a Polo leather flask...for $90.

Ultimately I want something functional and which fits comfortably with the other @#$% I keep in my Mark VII (paperback, small journal, small radio, umbrella).

A 20oz. Water bottle fits very nicely into one of the pockets on the BACK of the Mark IV. This way, the entire up-front part of the bag is available for all my stuff.
Even though the Mark VII seems to be the “real” Indy bag, the 6 has its advantages.

I'm looking to get one of these with the skeleton cover myself. They look very gearish and a lot like the one Indy uses in the Emperor's Tomb. Plus, a British item that fits inside another British item.

So to bring this somewhat back on topic
I think if you aren't that philanthropic
you could take a normal plastic bottle
and use this when you get too hottle.

Keep it in your Indy bag
it fits quite nicely, so don't you nag
sure I could use a big fat flask
but please don't kick me in the ask.

Ahem. At the risk of being on-topic...

Rosenet, Eddie Bauer has a 26 oz Lexan bottle (item #i22 792 1123), it's $8.50. I'm not sure if it'll fit, but it's between 16 and 32 oz. Also, there's the 24 oz. Nalgene N-Gen bottle; it says it's just over 2 inches wide, so it might fit better than the 32. Also, Nalgene makes something called the "cantene" which isn't rigid lexan, it's flexible polyethylene (like a super-duper ziploc bag with a rigid spout that you can drink from). Those conform to bags easier, and they come in several sizes. You can check 'em out REI.com.

Not too long ago, I found a military surplus pilots flask. It fits perfectly in the big pocket of my bag. I think they still have a few on the shelves and for $1 each you cant really beat the price.
