Alright, I promised pics of me with the holster and gun, so here they are -

Okay, this is how the holster is supposed to be turned (british style)

I recommed using a belt with a thinner width for this holster, so you can turn it right side up!

It does look just like a Webley holster, but with a Raider's color to it. Well done! Very nice!

I have Lee Keppler's LC Webley Holster in a very nice dark brown and an IMA one that was so light in color, I dyed it black for a ToD look.

It fits the sportsmansguide.com holster perfectly! Just some more modifications to make it a bit more authentic, and there ya go! A cheap replica-ish Indy gun!!

Sweet. I'll add those guns to the list and break out the black spray paint.

Or maybe use the paints for my gaming miniatures.

Ace,

You might try a light dry brush, followed by a wash of a deep blue (for bluing), then a coat of varnish (the paint on kind from GW would work). That should give it a real metal look. For the handle, dry brush brown with a few highlights, and a mat finish.

How long is the barrel on that toy gun? Would it fit in a Raiders holster?

yeah, I'm planning on cutting down the barrel, and re-attaching the site to make it more Raiders accurate. I ordered a set from that site, and should have them by the middle of next week.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm planning to do the same.

Anybody have suggestions on how best to get a clean cut on something like that?

I was just curious how you guys get the orange tip off of the end of the barrel. It is plastic and I thought that it would just break it if you tried. DO you cut it with a hack saw or something.

I have a real Model 19 and a Model 29 S&W. I thought about just using them, but it may not be a real good idea if I were going to a place where there could be a lot of kids like at a recent halloween party.

If this gun is a scale model of a 44 magnum, then it is a pretty big toy gun.

Just leave the bullets at home, and as long as you’re not pulling the thing out and waving it around, no one needs to know it's real.

As for cutting one down, I would just use a razor saw, and a mitre box (or vice), and cut the right amount out of the middle of the barrel, then glue the end back onto the rest of the gun. You could use a little narrower plastic tube, or dowel rod inside to help give it strength. The red on the tip (if like any other toy gun) is just soft plastic that should pull right off.
