These posts come up from time to time, but it's always interesting to find out what folks use their MKVII's for.

Currently, mine holds:

Minimaglite
Hubertus Stag Indy Knife
Raiders sandbag
Wells Lamonts
Compass
Spare web belt
Pencil and small notebook
Ball of string
Mobile Phone
Cigarettes
Chocolate
Small survival first-aid kit
Car keys

It's also used for the following at various times during the week:

Lucky Clover lighter and pouch
Wallet
Nappies
Baby wipes
Books /papers I happen to need on any particular day.

Man, these bags are a bit like a tardis really - it's amazing how much stuff you can actually fit inside! :)

I like to carry around books and things if I don't need to bring all of them (the books, I mean). Some water, maybe... ummm... sometimes my Bible, too, and sometimes sun glasses.

The contents of my Mk VII? Basically, it's

Mobile phone
Keys
Wallet (and no, don't start that "murse" discussion again!)
Wells Lamonts
Sunglasses (Randolph Engineering, the only decent aviator model...)
Bottle of water

Right now, if I were to dump my bag, here's what you would find:

-My leather journal with an illustration of San Marco, Venice on the cover
-A blue enamel Waterman pen
-My cell phone
-My iPod
-My L.L. Bean sunglasses, which are Polarized and have 100% UV protection. Try getting that somewhere else for $60.

There's room for a digital camera, multi-tool, map and anything else, but I don't need any of that stuff today. I am off to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. I am on vacation this week!

Mine only gets used during my 'off time' adventures so here's what mine
carries while in the wilds of Oregon.

-minimag flashlight
-ligher
-cell phone
-binoculars
-compass
-map
-9mm pistol and extra ammo
-digital camera
-Wells Lamonts

pocket knife, keys, and wallet too if not wearing pants with enough
pockets.

and hopfully very soon a gps!

Regards,
Indy

I'm currently using it instead of a book bag so I have:

iPod
Cell phone
My mini grail diary (small black leatherbound book with built in elastic... pretty cool actually)
My books, including whatever novel I'm reading during my commute
water
gum (trident white)

I have to be honest, I don't know what I would do without my "man-purse" now, it goes nearly everywhere I do.

Eric  ,
I try to wear it when we go to the theme parks,
but its not very Ride friendly  . The only park ive
been able to really wear it at was Disney mgm studios. :o
I personally dont like wearing the cap at all. But a Baseball
cap can fit easily in my mark VII and an akubra really cant :( .
Ive tried it. Im going to make my self a leather raiders hat just for
this reason. Ill let you know how it turns out.
Kindest Regards

My Mk VII usually contains the following:

PDA (in an aluminum protective case)
Wallet
Checkbook
Sunglasses (with cleaning cloth--in protective case)
Cellphone
Eyeglasses (Berkshire Chase with cleaning cloths, screwdriver and additional screws--in protective case)
Sunglass/Eyeglass cleaner spray
Compact Corkscrew (you'd be surprised how often this comes in handy...  )
Multifunction Pen/Mechanical Pencil/PDA Stylus
Pocketknife
Comb (though Maryon borrows it more than I use it...)

Depending on the day, it usually has a few scraps of paper in it as well. It's amazing how much clobber these things can hold! I try to go through mine on a pretty regular basis to eliminate stuff beyond the above list.

Sincere regards,

Henry Jones, Sr.

Lets see........ I carry in my bag a pair of binoculars, notebook, pen and pencil , diamond stone, strike anywhere matches in a waterproof case, mini maglite, and a copy of "The Action Hero's Handbook" {you never know it might come in handy}. Usually , I'll take my lunch to work in it too , As someone posted earlier, there is a lot of room in the bag.

Since I finally got one, I can answer this...

I keep a notebook and pen, 'antique style' address book, super 8 camera and extra film cartridges, a mini mag light, a leatherman type tool ('cause I can't afford a real one), lock picks and a single stick of dynamite. I'll bet I could fit the ol' snakewhip in there too. :)

I was kiddin' about the lock picks and dynamite.

Yeah that modified pocket is the perfect size for a cell phone. I highly recommend the Swindy Mod, it opens up the bag for a lot more practical uses, and also gives you a handy new pocket :D

Aww... You guys. Thanks.

I'll do a post soon enough when I've turned the lanyard disc into a nifty cupholder. I think Michaelson will like that one. (I know for a fact that he does let go of his coffee every now and then... Mostly when he is making more of it.) 8) ;)

It is a practical little pocket, and you can make it with very little effort.

Best regards,
Swindy

Well, I carry my cell phone, wallet, a fruit bar (mmm....granola...), my little flashlight (QM summit people may remember this from Disneyland and aboard the ship during the darker part of the tour). I also bring sunglasses, a mini-compass, a replica of the One Ring from
Lord of the Rings (muyy...preciousssss...), a camera, and my trusty swiss army knife (for the camping).

I might occasionaly keep my whip in it to (for hiking purposes....gotta bring my good luck charm...)
