First Wested Order - Questions

Post by darth64 »

1) What is the main difference between the 3 models (Raiders, ToD and LC). Is the Last Crusade Model is the same length as ToD (1'' inch longer).

2) If I order an ToD or LC (one inch longer in the back), do I have to add this extra inch in the SIZE CHART (Example: for the 42 reg; back length 24.50. Do I have to tell that I want 25.50 because I want the Temple of doom version?

3) Why some people recommend to add an extra inch in the front to '' prevent ride-up ?

4) I hesitate between authentic brown goatskin and dark brown goatskin. Any recommendations and pictures? Thanks!

1)Since Raiders is the original, I'll compare the other two.
TOD: 1" longer than Raiders.
Last Crusade: Larger collar, storm flaps, same length as Raiders and possibly larger pockets(?)

2)If you order a TOD, then they'll take the measurement off the chart and add it in themselves. You don't have to request a longer length.

3)Look around at some of the threads. Here's a picture of a recent member. http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/411ab0bc_13 ... BBP8l_uqcV

4)Here's a pic of the twohttp://ca.f2.pg.briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/jtotanes@rogers.com/lst?.dir=/Indy
Goat's on the left and Lamb on the right.
It's up to you whawt you want. Lamb is soft and fragile. It's also not to be used in Winter(unless you're brave). Goat is the opposite of Lamb. I wore it during Winter and I couldn't complain.

What happens to lamb if it's worn in winter? Does it just need extra treatment, or is it not recommended at all? Just curious.

It's a really soft and thin leather, so you won't be as warm, unless you wear about 2 sweaters underneath.

The lamb is lighter weight. Nothing will happen to the lamb in winter, but you'll freeze.

The lamb gets a little stiff from the cold, but works fine with a sweater and scarf underneath. I've worn one layered like this with the temps at 17 degress F. Not HIGHLY recommended, but doable. Regards. Michaelson

Well, in those temperatures, I wear my replica of Neo's trenchcoat from the first Matrix movie -- the lobby scene. It's quite warm, and a very nice coat.

Anyway, thanks for the info. I'm expecting my Wested soon.

www.abbyshot.com It's the Lobby Trench (the pictures on the site are not that good). If you like, I can PM you with some pictures of the one I've got -- it's perfect.

Yes, the LC jacket has larger front cargo pockets than the Raiders jacket. This was done to accommodate the grail diary.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the ToD jacket has narrower pockets than the Raiders one.

I thought it was a larger internal pocket to accomodate the diary? I don't seem to recall Ford carrying it in his cargo pockets...?

It was most definitely the cargo pockets. The front left pocket, I believe, is the one Elsa removed it from just after she finished her act with Vogel at Castle Brunwald.

If this is incorrect, my apologies.

...come to think of it, I don't recall him ever carrying/removing anything from the inside pocket... #-o

Rob, Sergei had mentioned it a few times in a couple of different threads. I had written the same thing you did in a thread and you see what his reply was.
