one worried man.
Well I got an E-mail from peter about my new jacket that he is in the middle of making, he said that the length was too long(I gave a little extra to prevent ride up...and also I am not the smallest guy around either ) so I told him to shorten it to a more proper length, and that is fine the problem is now I am second guessing everything about the jacket,...What else did I get wrong, will it be to short, will the sleeves be to long,??? I just feel like I took a final exam and now the worrying has set in!! I CANT STAND IT!!! I need mental help oh well thanks I just wanted to vent....now I am going to my room and cry for a while..
OK mate, time to de-stress on this
Regarding length, I normally take an R fitting in jackets. Aware that the Indy jacket is a short jacket to begin with, I took the option of getting an L fitting. I have seen posts around COW which suggest this can make all the difference. I didn't add any extra length; not even to the front of the jacket to reduce ride-up; I'm going to take any ride up as a jacket characteristic.
Now, regarding arm length, did you take a favourite jacket and measure its arms? Was this less or more than the standard arms which come on whatever size jacket you're getting? Mine were just shorter, so I remained with the standard arm fitting, aware that with creasing, etc, the arms will lose a bit of length, going forward.
Chest size; I'm assuming you gave your chest size, and the suit/jacket size you typically wear?
Now if you've done all these things (some other non essentials might be your waist size - to ensure the jacket doesn't taper too much - and neck size), I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Remember, if it all goes horribly wrong (which COW experience suggests is possible, but mostly unlikely), the jacket can be altered, remade or you can even have your money back. You don't want to think about those things right now, sure, but keep them at the back of your mind for the ultimate security.
Remember, I ordered my jacket about the same time as you. I'm in the same boat

IMPORTANT....If it doesn't fit, don't wear it. Send it back. It may take a while longer, but in the end you will have a perfect fitting custom made jacket.
Be very critical when you receive it, and if it has something that is just not right, don't be tempted to wear it around in all of your excitement. If you do, be prepared to live with it like that or pay to have it corrected later.
I know this is easier to say than it is to do, but just relax. Even if it comes with three sleeves, it can be fixed. Well, in that case it may have to be replaced, but anyway....
