Sounds like a great jacket!

Did you do any research on the double piece gusset option?
(Basically the Mick Jagger-lips.) Reports say they work great. :)

Don't go crazy waiting....
Congrats!

What do you define as "standard" hide?

I say standard hide becouse that is what wested called it on one of their
pages , it is just "hide" not the predistressed hide.
and no I really didnt reserch the gussets, what benifit are they?If it makes sense to me I can change it. :D

The benefit is that you will have better arm movement without the jacket riding up as much... when picking apples. (I think they work for oranges too, and definitely for pears.) :) Sorry, old joke.
Do a search and check out what people have to say about them. I hadn't done my homework on them before I got my jacket, hence the single type gusset on mine. The basic idea is that you get more leather to 'work with' when raising your arms.

I hope this helps.

To back up what Swindy is saying, my old cowhide jacket had the 1-piece gusset but my new goatskin has the 2-piece.

The 2-piece gusset is much better IMO, it actually does it's job and allows for greater movement.

So maybe another request for you to add to Peter's list?

Got it - the cow hide. See, to my mind, they're all hides, so I was curious as to which one you got. Cheers!

I too had recieved my Dark Brown Goatskin in just the 1-piece under-arm Gussets.

However, I sent mine back just 2 weeks ago for Wested just to go ahead and put the 2-piece under-arm Gussets on. It was something I just couldn't let go of....it kept nagging at me so, I just went for it, lol. Yes, for picking up those apples, oranges, ect....

The good news is that my Dark Brown Goat jacket is comin' home next week with those 2-piece Gussets on! :D

Your jacket sounds great....enjoy in great health my friend!

Captain D, as soon as you receive it, I'd love to know how the 2 piece gussets feel in comparison to the 1 piece.
Please keep us posted.

Hey there 'Blues! :D

You got it!

The Dark Brown Goat, that I wore at Gettysburg, was the one that I had sent back....even though I already had just the 1-piece Gussets in that jacket, I kept reading about how good the 2-piece were. So, before the cool air starts, I went for the 2-piece!

I can't seem to get my digital cam to work properly, so that I can post the pics here, but I'll keep playing with it....But, as soon as it arrives, I'll be sure to post either the pics or a write-up here for sure! :D

Kind Regards,
Captain D
