I really don't fault the makers that much as it is not very common for most men to come out with 10 or more inches over their pit-to-pit measurement. Suits off the rack don't fit me very well and I have had a few custom made which made me aware of the additional measurement. The only thing that bot...

Yep...a bit over 25 inches (have the jacket w/gussets if it makes any difference)

A jacket should always be 2-3 inches larger than your chest measurement. A 44 chest is a generally a 46 jacket. My chest is 40 my jackets are 42's or 44's. But more importantly it is best practice to measure a jacket you own that fits. If you know the armpit to armpit measurement then you can order...
