I replaced the brass snaps for black ones, which can be seen in the newest photos I posted in another thread. It may not be SA but I think it makes the jacket more sharp.

Man that jacket looks great! I honestly haven't seen one bad jacket come from Steel & Jones. That horse hide is great stuff, light but no worries about snagging it on something like I do with lamb. Your collar looks perfect.

I would recommend you print out that size chart and go to a tailor to be measured. Just to be sure.
I've ordered two jackets from S&J and both fit like glove

I measured a well fitting jacket a number of times and measured myself ( with help) a few times to make sure i made no mistakes.

Thanks guys. I was very impressed with this right out of the box. And i'm sure Diego can adjust your measurements for a slimmer jacket. I made sure i measured myself at least three times to make sure they were right. but i still have enough room to layer.

You'll be extremely satisfied with your jacket. I got the same jacket and hide last November if I remember correctly. The attention to detail S&j have is bar none. And it's cool to know that their fans of Indiana Jones. Enjoy your jacket when it arrives!

Kozmo- yes its OTR, i got it in 2008 if i remember correctly, its in washed goat. I don't know if they still have that hide available or if they have changed the pattern/style of the OTR raiders since then so i can't really help you there. from what I've seen though the HERO looks very nice.

I own 5.

1) wested custom LC/CS lamb ( lots of specs to make it more LC)
2) wested lamb LC/CS ( no specs )
3) wested pre-distressed cow
4) wested Raiders in goat
5) S&J custom LC in horse

I like them all, but I'm stuck between the wested goat or the S&J horse.

Diego does a great job with these jackets, they all look great! And I've gotten so many compliments from people when I'm wearing mine. It's a real head turner. I'm really considering getting a Temple of Doom jacket from S&J even though my wallet is screaming NOOOO!

If you ONLY have one shot at this and want to get it done right, I would vote Diego of Steel & Jones. Their very good at getting the size pinned down, their LC jacket is EXCELLENT. i've always been reluctant to try horsehide thinking it was too heavy and stiff. But this stuff is beautiful.
I think my quest for a LC jacket that satisfies me is over. Now onto my second favorite jacket The Temple of Doom.

I believe it's the lightweight.

I ordered the pre-distressed cow awhile ago. It's was nice. In fact it was a little TOO nice, it has a very marbled appearance. The same even distressing all over the jacket. Which made it look really fake imo. I gave it a wash and used some pecards to darken it up.

I'll look forward to seeing that. I'm going to pull the trigger on a Steele & jones LC jacket pretty soon, I'll ask if they can do the pockets 'off center'. I assume most people don't like the look of that, but personally I dig it.

Yea, I definitely agree that it looks like a illusion. It's funny I've never noticed that all the years I've been studying the LC jacket and watching the film.
