yeah honestly the only thing you have to worry about is someone thinking the sound is a gun going off. If no one is in earshot then you don't have to worry. I prefer dry grass for the whip; wet is no good for leather, sand or dirt can get in between the strands and cause damage and pavement might be...

I used to do the same thing when I was learning with my whips when they were new. I couldn't get it to sound as loud as videos I've watched online. I love my 8 foot Del Carpio and never had a problem with it. Dealing with Bernardo is an absolute joy as well and really treated me as more of a friend than just a customer. I think I remember reading that the problem with the buckle vs the D ring was that the buckle ends up cutting into leather car seats or something like that...

like Chewbacca said, the biggest problem with Wested is the return. I was lucky the return covered the mailing fees to receive and return (meaning I lost). I would say if it's your first jacket (or new) keep local until you really know what you want first before buying overseas. Having said that tho...

So I don't know why I missed this before but you know that "relax, this is kitten play" scene in LC? Well when Indy walks past the table up to the window to swing on the whip, watch the whip on his hip. That classic handle slide to the floor happens to him in about three steps!! Sorry I do...

Not sure this directly answers your question, but the IG site mentions that DM supplied bullwhips from six to sixteen feet long. Need the experts input here! We all know that 'officially' the whip is either 8 or 10 foot depending on what scene you are looking at (with variations occasionally). poor guy is trying to find any excuse he can to carry a whip (I would assume a dream of all of us) and you guys poo-poo him. The reason I went with D rings on mine is because I read the square buckles are murder on couches and car seats and such. Is this still the case?
