Re: How to remove paint on jacket?

I noticed (and I haven't got a clue how it happened) that I have a few small paint marks on the back of my jacket. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the leather? Perhaps with acetone, or simply a paint thinner? If you are going for a distressed look, it may blend right in, though...

Re: 100% Wool Fedora - Steam to the rescue

Is that the "outback" style DP? I trimmed the brim on mine with decent results. It was one of the first Indy hats I owned. Yours looks nice. :TOH: Thanks, Anidyjones. The one in the first pic is from Wested, a Jaxon. When you trimmed the brim, was it stiff enough by itself, or did you nee...

Re: Homemade Whip Keeper

Nice work, Curtis! Which IJ installment does it come from? Thanks, Cajunkraut! The screenshot is from the DVD extras, and this particular shot is from KOTCS. The prop manager said they had some props from the vault to work with, including a whip keeper. The picture is of a movie crew member holding...

Gladstone Style Bag - Restoration Adventure

Good Day, I hope all is well. I just found this gladstone style bag at an antique shop. The maker is Cheney. It is in need of some TLC. Here are some pics: https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/fr/cp0/e15/q65/12507552_10153760622810937_3252726381218915082_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&...

Re: G&B Expo discussions

Good Day,

I don't see the original list by Tundraraider. Could someone please comment with the original list of naturally distressing techniques, or explain how to view the the "sticky" note. Thanks.

Re: HOW DO I STOP THE SQUEAKING??? MAKE IT STOP!

A little late into the discussion, but I have a new Wested ROTLA that I have tried distressing some and found the similar squeaky sound throughout the process. I noticed someone posting about Dr. Marten's Wonder Balsam and thought I'd give the jacket an application of it. Funny thing is: my jacket l...

Homemade Whip Keeper

Hi Guys, After reviewing the DVD extras on props, I took an old leather belt and some brass snaps to replicate Indy's whip keeper: https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xlf1/v/t1.0-9/fr/cp0/e15/q65/12565438_10153790925235937_4655666932611914212_n.jpg?efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&oh=89bdda8d2ed82c74c0...

I will certainly be saving up and holding out for a Penman Raiders in beaver. :) Thanks for the tip on leaving the brim as is. Cheers guys.

100% Wool Fedora - Steam to the rescue

Good Day, I hope all is well. I am a newbie and am acquiring some gear, on a budget. I purchased a Jaxon 100% wool fedora through Wested and have been steaming it with hat hardener to get a Raiders look: https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/t31.0-8/fr/cp0/e15/q65/10296174_10153726097700...
