Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

Finally, as promised, pictures! Second to last is an example of a slight variation in the hide, which I think gives it some character, and a comparison of the 'roo to my Wested shrunken lambskin. http://i.imgur.com/cDTibD2m.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TXr1UyZm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sKvuDDim.jpg http://i...

Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

Sorry, I've been negligent on the pictures! I'll snap some this evening after work and get them uploaded. I'll be honest though- the pictures previously posted present a positive picture of this particular pelt.

Sorry about the alliteration. I'm not sure what happened there. :[

Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

So I got mine in yesterday and I love it! Everything Michaelson said about the 'roo skin is true- it's a very unique hide, very lightweight, very "dense" in a way. I applied some Pecard's, but honestly, I'm not sure if it'll absorb! I'm very happy with it. The US Wings large fits perfectly...

Re: Indy Jackets You Were Not Quite Satisified With

I've been a little disappointed in my Wested ROLA in shrunken lamb. I had purchased a Wested Goatskin some years ago off ebay and loved the skin and the fit of the jacket- but it was a size 40, and the sleeves were just a little short for me. As a result, I gave the jacket to my cousin and purchased...

Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

Well, I finally bit the bullet and put an order in this morning. The deciding factor was my most recent ROTLA Wested in Shrunken Lambskin- it hasn't really "felt" right on me since I got it- it just seems a lot more roomy than I'd prefer, especially in the arms. Figured I'd give the US Win...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

Thanks!! I really do love the hat- I'm finding more and more reasons to wear it- I'm lucky it goes well with my suits! ;)

I'll have to take another picture soon- between the heat, rain and just shaping it, the hat has taken on a little more character!

Re: Help ID a "Wested" Jacket

I might be wrong... but for a few years Wested had a cheaper off the peg option that was made elsewhere, outside of England (middle-east?). They all had the wider leather backing around the Wested label, like yours. If there is no Union Jack that says Made in England on the liner, then you've got o...

Re: Help ID a "Wested" Jacket

Looks reasonably Wested-like. What are your concerns? Mostly the lack of "Made in England" labeling, like my other two Wested leathers do. I was unaware if there was an "off the rack" or "economy" listing for Wested. If so, that's cool, I just want to be sure before I ...

Help ID a "Wested" Jacket

Hey all- I was wondering if any of the leather experts could tell me anything about the below "Wested" Last Crusade jacket- I personally feel there's something fishy going on- could use some more info from the experts. Thanks! http://i.imgur.com/oos8cqam.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KOSKawgm.jpg...

Re: Share your Indy Guns!

You may be MUCH better off having that work done if you plan on doing shooting with the piece, as since the gun has already been drilled out, there's little to no collectors value left due to it no longer being original. You've chosen.....wisely (in my opinion). :TOH: Regard! Michaelson Thanks M. I...

Re: Share your Indy Guns!

Thanks! Here are my two others- one "not quite" Indy Webley in .38 S&W and a S&W Victory Model currently in .38spl. The Smith is going to Cylinder and Slide to get re-barreled and re-parkerized to bring it back to it's original condition. Normally I wouldn't monkey about with an ol...

Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

Super light.....lighter than any lambskin I've owned, doesn't seem to want to weather at all, and I wore it all last winter. Completely water resistant. I've been in driving rainstorms and snow, walked inside, taken a paper towel and just squeegeed off all the water in one swipe. No soak through, n...

Just a weird hide. That's all I can say about it.

Re: Advintage Grey Clipper Fedora

That is a fantastic hat! I think the color would go very well with one of my favorite grey suits, especially in winter. Could wear it to work without getting too many "why is he wearing a fedora" looks. Very nice!

Re: US Wings 'Roo jacket in the works again

For the price they are charging for the roo, you'll need to sell all three Westeds and a kidney or two! They are beautiful, but that sticker shock. :Dietrich: Regards, Indiana Jeff That's true, the price is somewhat restrictive. I've got a Fall/Spring Wested, one for Winter, and a spare. Suppose I ...

Here's my new-to-me S&W M1917 and Colt Army Special- precursor to the Colt "Official Police". Annnnd my Wested, whip and Akubra, just for the photo. I haven't shot either yet, but I've got the moon clip all loaded and ready for the next time I get the chance! :TOH: http://i.imgur.com/Z...

Solid work, sir! Were you going for Last Crusade or Temple of Doom? If I had to guess, I'd say Crusade. Welcome aboard, and down the rabbit hole:) Best, B I was bashing while watching Crusade, so I think that's what I'm working on, lol! :) It is certainly a rabbit hole.... I get my first new Wested...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

Hey- new member here- just started collecting Indy gear- and first time ever owning a fedora. I ended up purchasing the Fed IV, and I couldn't be happier! First time "bashing" a cover as well- it's still kind of a work in progress. Let me know what you think! http://i.imgur.com/P15hwmdl.jpg
