Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

Finally reordered a slightly longer jacket and finally got the sizing just right, only disappointment is that I left it too long to get the Fiocchi studs.

I noticed they weren’t on the jacket and reached out to Wested and they’ve run out :(

Re: Wested Off-the-Shelf ToD vs Legacy ToD

I only have a second hand Wested TOD, so not quite sure whether it was an off-the-shelf or legacy, but most likely off-the-shelf. I just wanted to chime in to be aware of chest sizes with the TOD as well. The TOD sits on your shoulders more like a regular jacket (as opposed to the off-the-shoulder/...

Re: Wested Leather - Legacy Last Crusade Jacket

Great work Holt, the fit looks perfect!
I’m building up to ordering my third attempt at getting the size right… first one I ordered was too long, second too short! ](*,)
At least I’ve got spares to practice the ageing on I guess, hopefully I get it looking as good as yours once I’m done!

Re: R.I.P Peter Botwright

This is very sad news. I only own wested Indy jackets and remember being full of excitement when I drove down to get measured up by Peter for my first one. He took a lot of time going through the various hides and options etc. with me. Providing the kind of service and taking pride in his work that ...

Re: Cooking oil spill on Alden 405s

Hey! I saw these a while back and always wanted to ask how they are looking now. Did the color stay dark like that? I have a new pair that are quite orange and I wanted to darken them up without the stitching changing as well. Hi Capt. Blumburtt! They stayed dark but the reddishness has slowly crep...

That's great! Looks like it's a lot less rushed than some of his autographs, really nice example

Re: Signed Adventurebilt

I remember a post not too long ago from someone who tried to get a hat signed by Ford, but he refused. I think he only does it for charity auctions and the like. So, is the hat a size 58, 7 1/4? The info that came with the hat says that it was 'created to exacting specifications for Harrison Ford a...

Re: Signed Adventurebilt

Are you going to have a glass or plastic box cover made for it? Beautiful display, but it's going to catch a LOT of dust being out like that. :-k NICELY done! Steve Delk would be proud! :M:  Regards! Michaelson I've got a plexiglass display top for it. I tried getting a good picture with the t...

Re: Signed Adventurebilt

It's one of ten that he signed in 2011 for Celebrity Authentics.
I missed the boat when they sold them originally but managed to pick one up later from someone who decided to part with one.
It's now a prized part of my collection!

Signed Adventurebilt

Bought this quite a while back and it's sadly spent way too long in it's hat box. Finally got round to making a stand for it to go on display and I'm pretty pleased with it so I wanted to share! Had to angle the hat slightly to make it possible to see the autograph but I think I've spread the weight...

Re: Cooking oil spill on Alden 405s

Thanks :) You're quite right, just using the lexol would have been pointless for the stains, it made no difference to them at all! I did find the lexol evened out the Alden boot cream quite nicely and brightened up the stitching after the boot cream darkened them way too much though so at least a li...

Cooking oil spill on Alden 405s

After an accidental cooking oil spill in the canteen at work I found myself with horrible dark oil blotches on the side of one of my 405 boots. I initially tried both talc and leather degreaser to remove the marks but to no avail. Being a new member here I trawled the forum for ideas of what I could...

Re: THE vintage Raiders boots from Alden...

I think the Ab Aldens are fantastic. Had a second pair on order and was really disappointed to get the message in January that the order was being cancelled. Yes, they're too light in colour when they first arrive but I found they begin to darken quickly and continue to age into an increasingly dark...
