Re: Lets talk washing a Jacket

I was brave and went whole hog. I washed it warm and then slung it in the dryer with a pair of old leather shoes (I call em my beatin shoes, cause i use them to bash denim soft etc etc). :D I would test fit every 10 minutes to check for shrinking. Rolled up the sleeves just as it was almost dry and ...

Re: Akubra Adventurer - 10 days in Disney

I can't seem to get the curve flair in the back as good as I'd like. Hmmm, maybe I should've gotten mine soaked the last couple of days out here when it rained. =P~ All I did was after the day of being on my head just let it dry upside down. I can only assume because I was wearing it all day in the...

Re: Akubra Adventurer - 10 days in Disney

Absolutely I will need to check my camera to see if I have any pictures of it drenched but my tiny wife could attest it was torrential rain in Florida last week for a couple days. Lol. I think the pinch tightened nicely and I even got that much sought after up curve flair to the back half of the bri...

Re: Akubra Adventurer - 10 days in Disney

It has held up very nice through the above normal abuses of being stuffed under seats on rides and into bags... I know the Akubra isn't suppose to be "crushable" but trust me this thing was crushed, soaked, smashed, and dropped. over the 10 days I wore it all but 2 of those days.

Akubra Adventurer - 10 days in Disney

Wore the hat through rain and shine. Extremely heavy rain one day. Just got home and thought I'd show you guys how my 100% rabbit has held up through being soaked almost to the core. :D http://i974.photobucket.com/albums/ae226/TD-Kyle/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141121_104444459.jpg http://i974.photobuck...

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

I love you guys :[

You've definitely given me some confidence in wearing my hat.

I was a talking point in Hollywood Studios today so i swapped my Khaki shirt for the "fan" Raiders Shirt.... got less comments as i just "looked like one of the crowd"

thanks fellas! \:D/ :TOH:

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

I have a rough time not wearing the jacket haha. The hat and the jacket are staples in my outfit right now. After reading many responses (even the off topic Bilt posts! Ha!) I feel more at ease and I do hope that I look like I belong in my hat as much as you guys do!

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

Is it possible to "kill" the felt on a factory hat e.g Akubra Adventurer... :) ...

Could anyone point me in the direction of brim trimming instructions for an Akubra? Did a search but found nothing of significance.

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

Ha! I was looking at another place that does 100% Beaver with a tag on only 225 which after looking...

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

I love my hat. I do enjoy wearing it and my wife thinks i look good in it. she is currently on the other side of the couch mocking me in a voice i don't have saying things like "Hey guys, what color fedora you wearin today? me? i'm going with a burnt amber hue" Simply because I'm on a foru...

Re: Indy fedora same stigma?

Thank you all for you're fantastic replies! I wasn't expecting such a response from the community! I'm still getting over the inner thoughts of "The hat looks good, I love it! but people think I look stupid, people think I look stupid people think, I look stupid..." monologue in my head......

Indy fedora same stigma?

Does the indy fedora have the same stigma that "fedoras of okc" has perpetuated?

I wasn't aware of this unholy hatred of men who wear fedoras...until today.

I know this is an odd first post but I thought I'd ask what do you daily wearers wear with your Indy Headwear?
