Re: I'm going to Have My Hand Ejector Modified, Suggestions ??
The gunsmith I’d visited before had closed up shop; If I knew of a good one willing within a reasonable driving distance, I’d have had them use silver solder and put it on. As I’ve yet to find one nearby who comes recommended, I decided to try JB Weld: not that I would recommend such, but it worked ...

Re: I'm going to Have My Hand Ejector Modified, Suggestions ??
I intentionally left my barrel a hair longer than the actual Bapty, as I didn’t like the way the muzzle on it was cut right off at the S in Smith&Wesson, preferring to have a character-space in front of it in choosing where to cut.

Re: I'm going to Have My Hand Ejector Modified, Suggestions ??
I did mine myself: not that I’m suggesting you do as I did, but, what I did: I used small pipe clamps to create a guide, then used a hacksaw to cut the barrel. 4D Rentals provides tools that you can rent and use, so I obtained a crown cutter tool from them; note: you have to specify caliber, they in...

We DID have a sharp cold snap yesterday. Luckily, I didn’t have to keep it on inside long, the HR gal popped by right after lunch…. It’s an LL Bean…. I still have some quibbles with the exact shade, and the ribbing of the button placket isn’t horizontal, so I’m always looking for an “improvement”, b...

Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread
Ok, question: what it the year/ specific model of the blue GMC pickup truck that Indy's driving? To answer my own question, it's a circa 1948-1953 GMC that was referred to as the "New Design"; it has to be no later than 1953 because in 1954, they switched from a two-piece windshield to a ...

My first pair of Aldens that I got (in… ‘98?), never had that problem. But after years of needing a replacement pair but moaning about how much they cost, I finally nabbed another pair from eBay. Re: Why a 4" barrel?
Good research. Something I’d like to see changed, regarding the Indygear site about Bapty: https://www.indygear.com/igguns.html If you read the description when it gets to discussing the barrel, it puts forward a hypothesis that it had a later barrel swapped onto it. However, that’s not correct: whe...

I saw the ‘cone’, sitting on a desk? I kinda thought it could be a lens case or a telescope case?
The other ones were both rectangular, and hanging by straps on the corner of a wire shelf.

Re: My Noel Howard holster FINALLY has an occupant
Looks fantastic, do you plan to add an accurate ring to the bottom, or are you happy with its current state and not too sure about modification? Alas, Smith & Wesson put the serial number right through the center of the butt frame, so there's no easy way to tap a swivel mounting hole there. Ah ...

Re: Raiders of The Lost Ark screen used revolver - Bapty
On the Gear/ Guns page, when it’s describing Bapty, it supposes that it has had a barrel swap to a later, thinner barrel. I don’t think that’s correct. A Model of 1950 barrel wouldn’t have a .455 caliber mark on the side as the HE would; and, if you look carefully at the hi-res photos, you can see t...

Okay, I've been thinking, and looking. We know Indy's pocketknife has a spear-blade instead of clip-blade like most pocketknives today. We know it has jigged handles. The bolster was pretty flat. But, it should probably be a typical pocketknife circa the mid 1930's. With that in mind...... What I st...
