Re: I'm going to Have My Hand Ejector Modified, Suggestions ??

The gunsmith I’d visited before had closed up shop; If I knew of a good one willing within a reasonable driving distance, I’d have had them use silver solder and put it on. As I’ve yet to find one nearby who comes recommended, I decided to try JB Weld: not that I would recommend such, but it worked ...

I intentionally left my barrel a hair longer than the actual Bapty, as I didn’t like the way the muzzle on it was cut right off at the S in Smith&Wesson, preferring to have a character-space in front of it in choosing where to cut.

I did mine myself: not that I’m suggesting you do as I did, but, what I did: I used small pipe clamps to create a guide, then used a hacksaw to cut the barrel. 4D Rentals provides tools that you can rent and use, so I obtained a crown cutter tool from them; note: you have to specify caliber, they in...

Ok, question: what it the year/ specific model of the blue GMC pickup truck that Indy's driving? To answer my own question, it's a circa 1948-1953 GMC that was referred to as the "New Design"; it has to be no later than 1953 because in 1954, they switched from a two-piece windshield to a ...

Good research. Something I’d like to see changed, regarding the Indygear site about Bapty: https://www.indygear.com/igguns.html If you read the description when it gets to discussing the barrel, it puts forward a hypothesis that it had a later barrel swapped onto it. However, that’s not correct: whe...

Looks fantastic, do you plan to add an accurate ring to the bottom, or are you happy with its current state and not too sure about modification? Alas, Smith & Wesson put the serial number right through the center of the butt frame, so there's no easy way to tap a swivel mounting hole there. Ah ...

On the Gear/ Guns page, when it’s describing Bapty, it supposes that it has had a barrel swap to a later, thinner barrel. I don’t think that’s correct. A Model of 1950 barrel wouldn’t have a .455 caliber mark on the side as the HE would; and, if you look carefully at the hi-res photos, you can see t...

Okay, I've been thinking, and looking. We know Indy's pocketknife has a spear-blade instead of clip-blade like most pocketknives today. We know it has jigged handles. The bolster was pretty flat.
