ugh, seems like I can’t upload these in a very high resolution. Sorry.

Well if anyone’s really desperate to see this (or anything else about the jacket they want to see), DM me and I can send them to you in a normal resolution.

@itfoley YES! the smell, right? I’ve had a few Wested also and somehow this one is the most magical to me. I feel bad because I’m rarely wearing the shrunken lamb one now. My only gripe is that I wish I had ordered longer sleeves - they’re fine when my arms are at rest but they really ride up *a lot...

I’m 5’ 9”, 150 lbs and I love my Hero! I wear a 38R and I ordered: 23” back 24.5” sleeves But it’s still a bit of a loose jacket (as it should be). I treated it with hot water to bring the grain out, which shrunk it a bit (the sleeves were super long so they shrunk to the perfect spot). I did the sa...

The back length on this is more like my standard Raiders (but the fit is different cause it’s a TOD). I didn’t realize the sleeve length would be different on a Hero, so I ordered the same sleeve length I did on the Hero. If I had to do it over again, I’d probably get an extra 1” or .5” in the sleev...

Re: Wested Hero - sizing and “water treatment” question

thanks for all the kind words!

I’m only wearing it around the house and it has softened up a bit - I may still lexol some of the bits around the shoulders to un-stiffen those a bit (at least the armpits etc).

I’m guessing just regular old Lexol? Does it affect the color at all?

thanks, all! I’m really happy with the fit now. it’s still pretty stiff after wearing it all day - is there any leather conditioner that I should try to soften it back up? or maybe I just keep wearing it? Re: Wested Hero - sizing and “water treatment” question

Wested’s Hero Raiders drops the back of the collar and shoulders down so it wears about an inch and a half longer than the regular cut. I’m 6’1” and have a Wested Hero with a 23” back and it works well. Matches some of the scenes where it appears more like a short western jacket. Honestly, I’m more...

Yeah, I really had my heart set on the shrunken lambskin. But no big deal. I’m just surprised that a) they told me Friday that a shrunken lambskin hero would be no problem, and b) that they just refunded my money without asking if I’d like a different hide. But like I said, no big deal.

I think my point is...I don't think even nice hats cost $32 in 1930. Hats were not luxury items at the time...look at any photo of 1930s crowds, rich or poor. Ward's most expensive hat in 1930 was $4.50. I'm not sure why, but their most expensive hat in 1937 was $3.85 - with a giant banner that says...
