Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
So I followed your advice and they scuffed up fairly decently. I don't care how scuffed up these get; I have my Alden's that will distress over time. For a low price shoe, $30-$50, they are a nice shoe to comlete the 'look' of Indy. I have my doubts how well they will hold up to normal wear and tea...

Quick question about washing Todd's pants
I was advised "dry clean only," but honestly my pants could use a bit of shrinkage. Any danger to washing them cold in a washer and tumble drying on low heat?

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
So my Land's End Canvass 1963 came in, no need to post pics as they look like the ones above. bfett : My question to you is did you use the steel brush, wire, first then acetone.....etc. How did you go about distressing with the articles listed above. First thing I did was use alcohol on them to ta...

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
I got mine on Ebay. I don't think they're being made anymore. FYI the leather has a cheapish feel to it, but they are fine for a costume. Look for Lands End Canvas 1963. They also run a size small so get bigger unless you know how to stretch a boot out. Several methods to do this - I actually had to...

Re: All of the "Close Enough" Boots?
I recently obtained a pair of the Land's End canvas boots. They are not sold in retail anymore as far as I can tell, but Ebay will have them sometimes. I got mine for $30 + shipping. They weathered up really nice with some steel wool, alcohol, acetone and fuller's earth. Before: http://i.imgur.com/A...

Turn down the brim? What do you mean exactly? The front, back or sides? And how?knibs7 wrote:I think they both look fine. Personally, I would turn the brim down more on the Raiders hat because the way it looks now is like the "cowboy" LC.

Re: Christy's Adventurer!
Received a Christy's via AdVintage fedora today. I LOVE IT. It fits me better than my Todd's Raiders fedora. I also think the felt is better quality, and the ribbon is more screen accurate (darker). I'm not sure what it is about Todd's Raider fedora (maybe the dimensions are too big, or just too big...

Hey guys, I'm looking for a vendor that's selling this hat in the Last Crusade bash. They sell it at advintage, but appear to be out of stock at the moment. http://www.advintagefedora.de/shop/products/Christys-Adventurer/Adventurer-Fedora-Hat-by-Christys-Hats-sable.html" onclick="window.op...

Re: Did a "new lid" photoshoot last night
Hey BFett! It DOES take a while for the fedora to grow on your head. I always thought the brim was too wide or the crown too tall on my first fedora, but the downtowner is no Fed III! Don't let anyone sway your opinion on your hat but yourself! Those first 3 or so photos of you in costume with the ...

Thanks guys. Wasn't sure about the brim, so appreciate the feedback.
And yeah, it's the downtowner. But same as the Raiders hat to me.

Did a "new lid" photoshoot last night
Pardon my low-res images but I wanted to get some quick feedback from COW. This is a Todd's Raiders hat, and my first Indy lid. At first I was thinking it was a bit too large on me (like the brim is too wide), but the more I wore it the more it grew on me? Thoughts? http://i.imgur.com/3EvWx1o.jpg ht...

Indy boots on a thrift store budget
For $9.98, can't go wrong. Especially since I didn't feel like spending $450 on Alden's and roughing them up. I'm thinking of painting the black seams and getting some brown shoelaces, and tossing them in some fuller's earth, but other than that, pretty happy with these! http://i.imgur.com/XEqqo4Rh....

Considering whips now. Should I get Magnoli or Todd's costumes for my budget whip?
Is todd's worth the extra $30?

Todd has been sold out of most pants sizes for almost a year now. Consider yourself fortunate enough to fit in one of the pairs he has left.

Modeling my new Todd's shirt and pants
For the record, I am 6-0 and 180 lbs. Usually I buy size 33/34 pants and small slim fit shirts. After reading up on Todd's stuff I decided to go with a 35x32 pair of pants and a size medium shirt, with a 34-38 belt. The fit is, frankly, amazing. The pants fit my waist and thighs perfectly and have t...

Thanks. The shirt was kinda stiff when I put it on? Will washing it in cold water and hanging dry take care of that? What about fabric softener?

Just received Todd's shirt and pants - how to weather?
First off, this stuff fits me PERFECTLY so kudos to Todd. The color of the shirt is bang on. The pants are honestly the best pair of pants I own. :notworthy: So, I've heard you need to cold wash and line dry the shirt to get the stiffness out? What about the pants? Do they need a wash or should I ju...
