Yeah I sent an email to them as well shortly after I posted this thread. Like M said, I hope they honor the warranty on repairs if needed. I will post their response when I get it.

The G&B Expedition gone?

So just browsing through G&B website, I noticed the Expedition is no longer on the sight as are a number of other jackets they used to make. Anybody know what's going on with that? If they are not making them any more, I'm glad I got mine when I did.

A lot of times I wear my GB goat with a Pendleton or Hawaiian shirt underneath with a quarter cap. I get either "Nice vintage look" or someone talks like Edward G Robinson. Go figure.

Thanks for all the replies. I work as a firefighter/operator in an oil refinery here in Peoples Republik of Kalifornia so I am surrounded by all sorts of interesting items. Makes me a bit paranoid lol!

It's a 1903 Springfield Michaelson. It has an original barrel from 1918 :) . Thank you for the kind words! I wanted to add the snaps so it would have that LC vibe and like you said, block out the wind. And yes, I wear it whenever I can!

Here is mine. I had direction from the good Dr. Nebraska on snap placement (thank you Sir!). They are Prym 15mm antiqued brass snaps. I also put a custom name tape on the inside pocket. The tape matched the liner perfectly and I chose khaki for my name. I chose G&B in goat due to the excellent r...

Thank you all for these incredibly informative replies. It gives me a lot to think about concerning leather colors and soles. I believe I'm leaning more towards the 403's and for practical purposes may have to get the commando sole. Looking forward to trying them out at Aldens.

Well, I placed my order for a Last Crusade 8'er this afternoon. The email i received said it won't be ready until the end of July. I'm really excited about it, but the wait! Oh, the humanity! :shock: But from the reviews I have seen from you folks, I feel I made a good choice :)

Gentlemen, in your opinion, what color of the L.L. Bean chinos comes close to the color taupe? I wasn't able to purchase a pair of those before they discontinued them. It looks to me that the lighter khaki comes close, but I defer to the experts here. Thank you in advanced.
