HJ Location and dates!!!!!!!!
Hi lads, has anyone here seen a HJ Poet with a Old Burlington St address with no liner and the label directly on the felt? I thought all HJ Poets had a liner of some description? Were all HJs from this era made with rabbit or did they have a beaver option too? Thanks Pete Sent from my iPad using Tap...

Re: THE vintage Raiders boots from Alden...
I feel for the guys who purchased these in good faith.
The colour is not even in the same ballpark as the Raiders boots.
Very disappointing and I hope they do the right thing by their customers.

Re: Silk lining
There are quite a few Akubra models with the holes but they have a metal eyelet to keep the hole trim and tidy.

Silk lining
Hi lads, I have a superb Akubra Deluxe Fed and I'm thinking of removing the silk/satin lining. Any temp over 30c and it gets awfully hot and sweaty. Anyone else tried this? Did you notice any difference? I love the quality feel and look of the lining but the high temps here in Oz make it a tad uncom...

Re: Maybe Im too skeptical for my own good......
I bought a G&B Expedition in goatskin awhile back and wear it everywhere. Awesome jacket.
Very comfortable, accurate enough for me and will last for many years.
I only had funds for one Indy jacket and highly recommend the Expedition model.

That takes guts my friend, especially on an expensive example like that.
Looks nicely aged now.
I think I'll let mine age naturally though.

Congrats! Looks great and horsehide is perfect for hard wearing jackets.
Have you ever tried a goatskin model? They hold up pretty well too.
Enjoy the jacket!

Yes they'll ship to Oz. I have a couple of small tubs in clear and brown. IIRC you can also find them on eBay now too.

Re: akubra hat pros and cons
I have a Fed Deluxe and love it . A superb product and made by a company who really know how to make a quality long lasting hat. A fair price too considering what some are charging for a "Raiders" hat.

I'm always cleaning my hat, especially after wearing it on hot sunny days. The sweat stains soon become pronounced after a little exercise /activity.
Wear the hat...hard. It'll soon have the look you're after.

Re: Show us your Expeditions! / Any Distressed Expeditions?
Here you go Michael :TOH: I have had a few horsehide A2 jackets over the years and after a lot of research I pulled the trigger on this G&B Expedition goatskin jacket a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't be happier with it. Soft as butter, not too heavy and tough as nails. Darn comfy too.( I love the...

Re: ....so which Indy jacket is your favorite?
Hi all, I just picked up a darn nice G&B Expedition in Goatskin. Beautifully made and great quality. Very faithfull to the raiders jacket too IMHO.
The goatskin is more practical for me and makes for a very long and hard wearing jacket.
Take care
Pete
