Re: MOTB Cardigan
I live in CO, so it stay a balmy 35 during the day and sunny most of the time. The Duluth sweater is lined so you stay pretty toasty in it. I may order one of the thinner ones for cold days here

I have the Duluth one and it is almost too warm to wear with the jacket. Great sweater though. I have never been disappointed by anything Duluth.

Re: 2 Original WPG Bags side by side
I just watched ROTL and saw Indy come out of the Well of the Souls wearing a very green bag, like the W&G. May have to rethink my bag. W&G was reported to be the bag Indy used for that movie, but I can't remember the source now. More info to chew on.

How to add sweat/salt stains to fedora?
I am in the process of distressing some of my gear and and am wanting to add some salt stains to the ribbon of my hat. I have some Fullers Earth, but it appears to be too light. I am thinking of some of the screen shots I have seen in Raiders where Indy has pronounced salt stains on his hat. I have ...

Re: 2 Original WPG Bags side by side
Well, you can see which one has a strap and which one doesn't. I'll keep the H&S for my kit and probably dump the other one or just use it for something else and leave the original strap on it.

Re: Repro WPG Indy Bag
ChrisMD, I would think that yours would be the exception rather than the rule and, maybe, a fluke. This is from the website "These bags copy all the features of the original one right down to the brass eyelets on the bottom, the metal disc on the side, and all the internal pockets and dividers ...

I sent him a PM to see if he is still doing these. There was nothing on his website or eBay about them, other than personal collection. We'll see. I would rather have his, if I am doing resin.

Looking at this resin replica
While I would love to have a firing Indy pistol, they are well out of my price range as are the Todd's blank guns. I was looking at this one: http://www.westernstageprops.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WSP&Product_Code=IJG2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

Repro WPG Indy Bag
I also have the repro WPG bag. It is closer in color to the H&S bag but would take some considerable weathering to break it in as the material used is not 70 years old. Pictured here with the WPG strap http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m66/westy1970/IMG_06051_zps65aaa14c.jpg Side with the littl...

Re: 3 WPG Bags side by side
Sadly, none of them do. On the originals, they both have a string attached to that small pocket that appears to have been stitched into the seam. The repro bag does not have the string, only the pocket and no eyelet. Could have been another manufacturer, though. There is a thread above this one that...

2 Original WPG Bags side by side
I ordered a W&G bag from WPG to add to my H&S one. Here are pics of and comparisons of both In the first picture you can see both bags side by side. The one on the right is the H&S dated 1942 and the one on the left is a W&G dated 1942. The H&S is more of a "khaki" colo...

Re: Thinking of distressing my jacket and hat
As to Fullers Earth, a quick check of Amazon shows lots of products calling themselves Fullers Earth for beauty and make up, they aren't really Fullers Earth. So the first, most obvious, question is which one to buy? Second, how is it applied? Gring it up and rub it into the ribbon? Moisten it first...

Hence my hesitation for distressing it. I've had it about 9 months ago and bought from an awesome member on this board used. I will leave this one as is and buy a second jacket, hopefully, from same said member if his offer is still good. :TOH: ps, bookmarked the above thread to re-read as needed. N...

Thinking of distressing my jacket and hat
I have a G&B jacket that I bought here and it looks brand new. Since it "just fits" I am leery of wetting as I am afraid of shrinkage. I have read about acetone or rubbing alcohol to take shine off and using a fine grit sand paper to the seams and high spots. I am not looking to dirty ...

Re: Packed for a 6 day trip
I won't lie, it was REALLY tight to get everything to fit and didn't leave any room to bring anything back but it all fit! I should have brought my felt hat as the weather was a bit iffy and I could have used it. And that is an IR flag on a 5.11 hat. No whip on this trip, maybe next time I visit San...

Having ordered several Scottish jackets from the U.K. I always wondered about Wested's sizing. Typically, when I order a kilt jacket I have to order a size up from the U.S. size I normally wear. Is this true with Wested, as well? (For U.S. buyers, of course)

I bought a close enough vintage Eveready on eBay for about $20 and replaced the internals with one from an old mag light with a halogen bulb. Works great and is a perfect fit in my Indy bag.

I used to carry my P11 in my front pocket. With the little pocket holster I had it looked like a cell phone. My 2c on carrying that gun. Now I carry a PPK/S on my ankle or belt depending on jacket.

I can only speak to the Wested and What Price Glory shirts. The Wested shirt is VERY light weight and not very SA. I think the WPG is more SA but you have to order one size larger than you normally wear and it is NOT a "wash and wear" shirt. I have ironed the @#$% out of mine and still can...

So, I just ordered a pair of Todd's pants in my waist size and planned on having them tailored to length. I was sent 3 sizes too small and a quick check of their website shows them to be out of all sizes. Even their eBay store seems to only have a few pair and none in the size I ordered. I sent them...
