Re: Adequate boots that can be found in the UK
I am going to guess that the boots you where looking at where the Red Wings 9030 Beckman Mock Toe boots? If so, there is another pair that is 'historically accurate', they are the Red Wings Iron Rangers. They have accurate (ish) soles, and they look great after a while of use. They are historically...

So, you're saying once you completely rebuilt them with tougher components, they were fine? :-k ;) :Plymouth: Regards! Re: Todd's boots for everyday use
I've worn my Todds boots nearly all the time I have gone out. They have been to China, Russia, France, Germany, Italy and the US and are still fine. A few things which have let me down: - laces snapped (easily fixed with a new set) - an eye loop broke (now used as a hole) - soles and heels wear (rep...

Just bought a new hat whislt in New Orleans from this fantastic store called Meyer the Hatter. Although it isn't a an indiana jones hat, it is a western style hat made from fur felt and I thought it would be a perfect hat for the summer. However, on returning to my apartment and allowing my son to l...

I haven't stained mine, but after a year of regular use the welt has darkened up all on its own. I still have all the original hooks, too. I only tie the bottom two, and make sure to pull to the sides instead of up/out when tying them. I did replace the laces after a few weeks due to fraying issues...

Nice Knives! I think Indy would carry something just a little simpler but also chunky. I decided to go with a No.10 Stainless Steel Opinel as it gave that simplicity yet was also a good size without being too big ( 4" blade - folder). Opinel is a company who have been making a variety of knives...

Just though I would share a quick update! The hat was placed on the hat shaper which was a tad to big and as a result I lost about 1/4 of an inch off the top height (check photo). Otherwise, all is good and the taper has definitely been reduced. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/585/imagebun.jpg/...

Most likely you won't need to do that since your just spraying it and not soaking. With the christy felt. Just spray them and then pull it over your block. Make sure you don't get the brim wet. When you have the brim break in place, tie it down with a blocking tie or the felt will shrink. Let it sit for at least a day or two. Thanks very much, do you suggest putting cling film ov...

The Fedora takes its name from Princess Fedora Romanoff, a character in a Victorian melodrama written for Sarah Bernhardt and first performed in 1883. Not to sure. My feet are about 4 inches wide and there is still a bit of room (Thats wearing thick socks). The shoes may seem stiff and tight at first, but they will soon soften and loosen up for optimum comfort.
I would also consider a stick on sole for some grip, they can be a bit slippery.
