Todd's Trousers alterations

Anyone here have experience with having trousers from Todd's altered? Specifically, letting OUT the hem a bit. I have a pair that needs to be about an inch longer and I've had one seamstress tell me it's not possible with these pants. I have a few other options in my city, but before I go driving ar...

I prefer Todd's....but then again the one I had was when he still made kangaroo. I also have one of the kangaroo whips in my collection. As for being usable, the one I have is surprisingly light weight for its length (8 foot), and the braiding is severely twisted down the length. It's certainly usa...

Re: The pros and cons of an 8 foot vs 10 foot bullwhip

It may have been mentioned, but I didn't notice it... One thing to keep in mind about whip lengths is that it's talking about the handle/thong (braided parts) ONLY. The length does not include the fall and cracker -- which add almost another 2 feet to the length. So a 10 foot whip is really closer t...

I'd say you've got a much better whip on your hands now. Hard to tell from just one picture, but that first whip looked a little bit lumpy. As for a little bit of moisture, seems like you did OK. Your whip should be fine. Just don't make a habit of cracking it in wet grass. Get yourself a nylon whip...

You can drop two strands at once without getting a bulge if you're careful. Just wrap them under your plaiting carefully and trim them staggered. I dropped two at a time for this whip because I wanted to preserve the pattern as much as possible. No buldges. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj539/...

The easiest method I've found is to draw patterns out on a grid. Once drawn out, you can work out the over/under sequence by counting down the diagonal. Since it's hard to explain, I've included a couple of pics: http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj539/Zuiun/DAF0F585-5918-42E5-AF96-29BF1EA3ACE5_zp...

With the strap, you are looking at a high contrast situation -- dark strap against a light shirt. Edge enhancement (very common on DVD) *may* give the illusion of grooves on the strap by creating a slight "ghost" of the blend between the light and dark area of the image.
