Re: Display case for a indy hat
Just an idea that I have seen used before: go to a pet store and get a fish tank (or find a used one online) flip it upside down and there you go. Depending on the tank though the edges might interfere with the display part. Some tanks are glued/siliconed together while the larger black plastic piec...

Re: A way to be SA & warm?
A few years back some folks got quilted liners from U.S. Cavalry and other surplus stores, I used mine for a couple of days but it proved to be a bit too small and my local place didn't have spares in the right size. The one I had was an M-65 jacket liner, like this: http://www.rddusa.com/images/pro...

I'm fairly certain that excess pressure should only be placed on the hat from the hat jack if one is trying to 'upsize' it--Therefore, at all other times, it should be the same tension as your head--ie. If you wear a size 59, your hat jack should be 59 cm circumference. If your sweatband is wet, and...

Case in Point: Peter Botwright, as we all know, the man who MADE all the REAL jackets was in Disneyworld with us in California (Or is it land? I never know). The owner of the shop tried to convince Peter that the jacket they had in the store was JUST LIKE the ones in the film, made by the same compa...

I can hear Michaelson pulling out his signature torch. You guys better not make him spill his coffee while he ties you to the stake :D The main reason I use pecards on my jacket, and the main reason I'm fairly certain it's a good idea, is because it prevents the jacket from losing it's 'fit' if you ...

very cool! Do tell us more of your adventures, we're always up for a good story/photo essay! As far as the hat question, depends on what you'll be using it for/what you'll be up to while wearing it. The fed is better value, I have no doubt. But it's not a dress hat (that's not to say it doesn't look...

Hey Guys, On that well-used HJ from the archives photo, is it not plausable that the plastic covering that tends to be over the crest has simply faded due to the extensive wear of the hat in the film? My Akubra has demonstrated a similar off-coloration--so I wonder if perhaps this is the case? Cheer...

Well, Solo, you can shrink this one down within plenty of time for Halloween, save yourself 120 bucks, wear it for a while and instead of getting a new hat, just get this one reblocked a size smaller (I think it can be done). You'll just have to trim the excess off the brim. I remember I was wearing...
