I may be willing, but I would have to know more exactly what you are wanting. The problem with a good kit is that it is pretty costly. Braiding is the easier part of the process.

Well, I have some ideas that are out there, but I will keep most to myself. Lets just say we are trying to keep it "Indy Style" still...what I would propose at the bare minimum is his whip should be black or brandy. Let's say his whip is heavily used and a decade or so old still. It would ...

Re: Del Carpio 9ft Raiders whip
The problem with low end/quality whips is that they are constructed poorly. While one can learn to crack them, they will cause all sorts of bad habbits. I good guilty whips should be weighted well and once directed it should roll out effortlessly in the direction it is guided. Everyone I see a video...

I am hoping for a change up myself. I love an 8" spike, but would really like a new look. I would go with Brandy and black 2-tone. It is a change up, but at a distance would just look like a well used darkened whip for those of you who can't bare much change.

If you want a great deal on a cowhide whip from eBay find a guy named Arturo6060.. or something like that. He makes a good whip for around that price. I would go to pureehips.com and by a whip from Gus if you just want to spend a couple hundred dollars on a functioning whip.

I thought this might be a bitter/sweet topic.
My biggest regret is an 8' 12 Plait Joe Strain Raiders. It was the first kangaroo I bought and the first of many from h. I needed finances bad and still regret it years later.

You can't go wrong with any of the before mentioned whip makers. Used or new...especially when looking at a 8'-10'. Or if you have $40 to spend, go to youtube and look for Adam Winrich's videos for how to make a whip. He has a way to go to your local hardwa...

Several people use fiberglass...but tohiti cane is prederwd...you could even get some rattan. 1/2 plair would be the way to go...that way you dont have to taper the sticks or split lay a metal core in it. The only problem with fiberglass is it will...could...eventually shatter

Actually....the strength of a higher plait count is stronger then a lower plait count. If it is a strong 3mm(not a damaged strand)....you could pull your hardest and it wont break champ. The problem with an 8 strand overlay is that it will mess up a good and natural formula. Most people who make an 8 strand tend to taper the whole length. 12 strands should have all the taper end at the 1/2 way.point which should be the 1st drop. In theory...it would save some time cutting strands an...
