Re: HOLT'S MYSTERY OF THE BLUES* Builders thread

Sorry I may have missed this somewhere but do we know what make and model sax Indy plays? I assume by the size it’s a curved soprano sax? Thanks!

Found some solid laces!

Hey everyone, I don't post much, though I'm always around here. I just wanted to share that I found some great boot laces on amazon recently. Really like the color, plus they're unwaxed and round too. Raiders is my favorite film and after years of wear, my Aldens went from the unfortunate pumpkin co...

Alden Stitching Problem?

Hello everyone, I may be worrying about this too much but I’m noticing the toe stitching on my Alden 405s are starting to create larger gaps especially where the boot bends if that makes sense. The holes where the thread goes into the leather are starting to widen and almost look like small tears. I...

Re: Alden Repair Question

Boots arrived back to the factory safe and sound and should just be until the end of May for them to be finished. Phew, I'm just happy they made it. Must've been a miscommunication. I'll post some pics then of the repairs once in hand.

Re: Alden Repair Question

I would search out a cobbler. Please don't glue it. Better to pay for a proper repair than ruin a shoe with glue. Thank you! I'll do that. I have a good cobbler not too far from my home. Probably not a major issue I assume If you’ve had the shoes for awhile, you may also want to consider just havin...

Alden Repair Question

Hello everyone, Probably a quick question for you all. I've been walking around Tokyo for vacation the past few days and noticed that my right Alden 405 is starting to separate from the sole at the bend of the boot. Do you think this is something to have a cobbler address when I get back or simply m...

Re: Cooking oil spill on Alden 405s

Hey! I saw these a while back and always wanted to ask how they are looking now. Did the color stay dark like that? I have a new pair that are quite orange and I wanted to darken them up without the stitching changing as well. Hi Capt. Blumburtt! They stayed dark but the reddishness has slowly crep...

Re: Cooking oil spill on Alden 405s

After an accidental cooking oil spill in the canteen at work I found myself with horrible dark oil blotches on the side of one of my 405 boots. I initially tried both talc and leather degreaser to remove the marks but to no avail. Being a new member here I trawled the forum for ideas of what I coul...

Re: THE vintage Raiders boots from Alden...

Hey everyone, Just throwing this out there, but there are vintage Alden 405s on ebay right now size 9 EEE. They appear to be in perfect condition and claim to be from the 50's. I didn't know if anyone saw these yet. I figured they would be at least good for historical reference to the original Indy ...

Re: Wested Indy Trousers

Hey everyone, I did contact Wested the other day about the trouser inseam length and they told me that they can be custom made in any length I need. but that would be they cannot be returned. I'm 32x34 and wanted to have the military seam as well so I'd need about a 32x38 or so. Wow, I cant believe ...

My Wested Lamb 5 Years Later

Wested Raiders lamb jacket:

The pics arent that great but you get the idea. I recently made the sleeves wet and rolled them up to get that wrinkle style from TOD.
