Re: Funny thing just happened with my new Todds 8 footer
Kinda off-topic, but don't want to necro-post one of the older Todd's whip threads. You say you just got it, was that one of the new batch that jut came back into stock? If so, do you know if it varies from the ones available last fall at all? I'm really close to grabbing an 8' tan myself, but the p...

Re: More pants options...anyone tried costumebase's new ones
Yeah, if you check out the thread for Todd's new pants they actually had an issue with the labelled sizes and had to measure each pair by hand to figure out what they were. What came up is that mass-producers tend to subtract around 2" from the labelled size to make us all feel better about our...

Re: More pants options...anyone tried costumebase's new ones
Yeah, pretty much the opinions I was running through my head, but thought...you never know; part wool, colour seems okay, possibly closer than some of the close-enoughs from Lands' End, etc at half the cost, maybe there's a close-enough gem there...also they're doing what looks like a not terrible D...

More pants options...anyone tried costumebase's new ones?
Pretty much says it all right there, doesn't it? I just noticed the old standby inexpensive-though-not-terrifically-accurate Costumebase now offers a pair of Indy pants. Anyone have a pair? Price is nice, while the elasticized waist is obviousyl not that great looking, but hard to tell what the rest...

Re: Brand new 403s...now what?
I'm up on the Coast in Halfmoon Bay, so if you're up this way shouldn't be hard to spot each other :) I'll have to have a read through one of the many Pecards threads, as I wasn't aware that they had multiple products, let alone a specific waterproofing. As for being slippery, I had worried about th...

Brand new 403s...now what?
Sooo...I just received my very first real pair of boots, some 403s (don't get me started on the issues getting them sent to Canada....the Alden shop was fantastic, UPS once the package got to Vancouver....less so). Should go without saying that these are the best pair of boots I've ever worn - the c...

Re: Aldo shoes model Rodiguez (close-ish boots)
Postal strike over, and my rodriguez's arrived today. Hmmm... Not a fan; the heel is too chunky and high, the boot seems to put me off-balance and I feel like I'm going to fall forward. Overall not a terrifically comfortable boot and they're headed right back to Aldo. Glad I've got my very first pai...

Can anyone point me at pics of the proper slides/buckles? One thing I'd like to do is repalce the plastic slides on my BW, but have no idea where to get a good look at what should be going on to replace them

Re: Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra F
Yeah, that's the real test, isn't it :) Just have to get my wife to take a couple without her looking at me weird. I think I am going to order the hatshapers product as well, just to have on hand for when the taper finally gets to me. Again, while I'd love to send the thing out for a real reblock, t...

Re: A thread about pouncing and other stuff
Odd to find this today, as I was just driving in to work thinking about my FedIV "I wonder if it's possible to pounce a hat after it's left the hatter?". Finally getting happy with the bash, but the felt could be smoother (I know, I know, it'll never be an AB or Penman, but with a $125 hat...

Re: Aldo shoes model Rodiguez (close-ish boots)
Grabbed a pair from the Aldo Canada website for $69.99, free shipping. If the postal strike ever ends I'll jump in with my thoughts too.

Re: Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra F
Nope, I completely get what you're suggesting, you explained it perfectly. I actually previously HAD deep dents like that, but reviewing some sceenshots, thought that they extended too far back, and re-did them to be shorter. I've gone back and re-massaged them to go almost half-way back. In the pro...

Re: Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra F
Love to, and that would've been my choice ideally. However it looks like the closest people I'd trust to reblock the thing are in the US. Being in Canada myself, the shipping plus the cost of the reblock looks like it would be more than the cost of a new FedIV standard (yeah, Canada Post ***** THAT ...

Re: Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra F
Welp...pushing the back up helped a bit, but only subtly so. Yes, in my enthusiasm I sprayed the crown thoughoughly, but didn't have anything inside to support it, so I'm thinking that's where the taper came from. Am I right in thinking that the only way to correct it now is to try and take it back ...

Re: Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra F
No fear of that :) ...I've soaked the crease, front and back to try and reshape the center dent to the right height. This seems to have worked well, however has introduced some taper to the front profile and made the humps WAY too pointy, which is giving me a TOD look I'm not happy with...yet. I'm w...

Anyone help with a bash<a h gone sideways on an Akubra Fed4?
Hey, guys! Well, after trying to bash my first real hat, a FedIV standard, three times over the past year and a half, I'm getting frustrated and hoping someone might be able to give me some specific advice on how to fix this bash. I'm trying to go for a raiders-ish bash (non-scene specific), and hav...

Re: Bantu Wind Todd's jacket thread...
Cassidy, I'm 6'2 and ordered the L myself, based on the majority of the specs posted - as I said above, it fits beautifully aside from the fact that I would've like to have maybe another inch of length at the waist. It covers my belt, but just . I tried to go back for an XL as well, but they seem to...
