Re: Newer Aldens track marks on stitching?

There are several pictures online that show the Indy boots with machine track marks: https://leffot.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DSC_0050.jpg They seem to be most visible on the natural chromexcel boots. I was ready for them to be on my boots when I ordered them, but they arrived unblemished. I t...

Newer Aldens track marks on stitching?

Has this been discussed before? I ordered a new pair of 405's and there are track marks around (following) the toe stitching, presumably from the sewing machine. Ive never seen this on any other pair of Aldens ive ordered before...

Havent been through here in a while, but its a bummer to see that Wested STILL hasnt sorted out their customer service and sizing issues. I imagine though it can be hard, due to the extreme volume of business they do. Perhaps a knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated customer service rep would solve t...

Most trusted leather alteration vendor in California?

Have three jackets I have been putting off getting tailored. Heading to the LA area this summer and thought I would see if anyone has a vendor they like and trust to do good alterations. None exist in the SF bay area as far as I can tell. Is Vanson still a good option? Any info is appreciated! :TOH:...

Re: Custom Indy Bag to Hold Laptop

Lots of reproductions which are made in mass quantities, most likely overseas. Your best bet is to have one custom made by a local seamstress or the like. That will probably be your best and most cost effective route. You could probably even take them a MK 7 and ask them to increase the size. You ca...

Ditto to what scandanavia said. Ford already wor the 405's for everyday use as a carpenter, and also maybe because he had a foot condition in which he needed the shoes....not sure about the latter.
