Re: The 4 corners?
As far as I know there was only one Hassett's 4 Corners. I've talked with Charlie Hassett and he said there's been a few timing variations throughout the years, changing which crack gets the accent, but it's still 4 cracks in the overhead plane. With John Brady's '4-corners', he was basically doing...

In my experience waxed crakers aren't bad if you A) have a good waxed thread, and B) break it in well. Waxed crackers last a really long time and can be good crackers, BUT they hurt like no other if you mess up wich is why I don't use them if I'm trying to learn something new. http://img843.imagesha...

Thanks for the replys everyone! I must say though, I'm not really sure what route to take here because we seem to have conflicting opinions. True but the stretch is pretty minimal once its all plaited. Of course that is with a round braid, I suppose I should experiment with a flat braid like would be on the keeper to see how much stretch is left in it.... You've proven a good point

Re: Stock whip keepers
Hi Holmes, Stock whip keeper , lenght will depend on width, with the hinging being on the handle keeper with little or no hinge on the thong . It should be loose enough that the handle keeper be able to hinge in any direction. you dont want it too tight. Thanks for the info. Do you mean that the ha...

Stock whip keepers
How big should the loop on stockwhip handle and the loop on the thong be. I'm wantin to make a nylon stock whip and I have no idea what size the keeper loops need to be to make a good transition, so if anyone can measure thiers or if any whipmaker has any advice it would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
